IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby appoint for a term of one year from the date hereof the persons described in the Schedule hereto as members of the District Licensing Authority for No. 9 Transport District, and I do hereby appoint Alexander Ivan Walker Wood to be Chairman of the said authority.

Appointment of Wharf at Wellington under the Customs Act, 1913.

Customs Department,
Wellington, 24th February, 1932.

I, WILLIAM DOWNIE STEWART, Minister of Customs, in exercise of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do by this Warrant alter the limits of the Breastwork Wharf at the Port of Wellington, as described in Minister’s Warrant of Appointment dated 1st June, 1928, and gazetted on 7th June, 1928, so that the said limits shall extend from the eastern side of the Taranaki Street Wharf to the eastern side of the Pipitea Wharf, thence in a north-easterly direction for 1,430 ft., and then in a northerly direction for 1,730 ft.

Additional Land included in the Opurare Development Scheme.

WHEREAS notice was published in the Gazette of 1931, page 1464, of the Native Minister’s intention to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to Pukerui 2x 2a and other blocks, and known as the Opurare Development Scheme: Now, therefore, I, the said Native Minister, do decide to apply the provisions of section 522 of the Native Land Act, 1931, to the additional land mentioned in the Schedule hereto as a part of such scheme, and hereby give notice of my intention accordingly.

No owner, except with the consent of the Native Minister, is entitled to exercise any rights of ownership in connection with the land affected so as to interfere with or obstruct the carrying-out of the development scheme.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for Miss E. Batt, Hobart.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by her own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Santa Magdalena : Alteration in Light.

Position : Lat. 52° 55′ S., long. 70° 34′ W. (approx.).
Abridged description : Gp. Fl. (2) ev. 20 sec. 141 ft., 18 m. (U).

Alteration : The light has been replaced by an unwatched light having the following characteristics: Group flashing white with two flashes every twenty seconds, thus: Flash, 1 sec.; eclipse, 4 sec.; flash, 1 sec.; eclipse, 14 sec. The visibility has been increased to 18 miles and the remaining characteristics are unchanged.
