The land may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.

Applicants must appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Tuesday, 26th April, 1932, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of any other district.

The ballot will be held immediately on conclusion of the examination of applicants.

Rotorua County.—Tarawera Survey District.

SECTION 4, Block X, and Section 1, Block XI: Area, 3,146 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £880. Deposit on deferred payments, £45; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £27 2s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £17 12s.

Rough grazing property, situated off the Rotorua–Waiotapu Road, about twelve miles from Rotorua Post-office, school, and railway-station by a metalled road; seventeen miles from Ngongotaha Saleyards.

Very broken and hilly section, intersected by deep fissures caused by Tarawera eruption.

The soil is a light loam and part Tarawera mud resting on pumice formation.

Badly watered by the Wairua Stream.

Gorse and ragwort in evidence.

The whole area is in its natural state, and is suitable for rough-grazing purposes only. Considerable improvements will require to be carried out before the land may be utilized to any great extent.
