NOTICE BY PUBLIC TRUSTEE UNDER PART III OF THE PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE ACT, 1908, AND ITS AMENDMENTS.

WHEREAS one Ernest John James Crew, formerly of Christchurch, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, New Zealand, Mental Hospital Attendant, but now of parts unknown, is the owner of the following personal property, that is to say:—

Contributions to Public Service Superannuation Fund, £102 3s. 5d.

And whereas it is not known where the said Ernest James Crew is or whether he is alive or dead: And whereas by an order made by a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington on the 11th day of December, 1931, the Public Trustee was authorized to take possession of all the personal property of the said Ernest John James Crew, and in particular of the said contributions, and to apply the moneys received by him in exercise of the foregoing power in the maintenance of the wife and children of the said Ernest John James Crew: Now the public Trustee hereby gives notice that it is his intention henceforth to exercise the powers conferred on him as aforesaid by virtue of the said Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of Farquharson Bros. (Australasia), Ltd. (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the above company will be held at twelve noon on Wednesday, the 24th day of February, 1932, at the office of the Liquidator, 102 Featherston Street, Wellington, for the purpose of enabling the Liquidator to lay before such meeting an account showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and of offering any explanation he may wish to give, and for the purpose of considering and, if thought fit, passing as an extraordinary resolution the following resolution:—

Resolved: “That the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator be retained by the Liquidator for a period of one year from the date hereof, after which time they may be destroyed by the Liquidator.”

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 10th day of February, 1932, presented to the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, K.C.M.G., P.C., Chief Justice of New Zealand, by Richard Cock, of New Plymouth, Gentleman, Truby King, of Stratford, Solicitor, Eliot Millar King, of New Plymouth, Company-director, and Eric Stanley Shaw, of New Plymouth, Company-manager, contributories of the said company. And the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court at New Plymouth on the 22nd day of February, 1932; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

The petitioners’ solicitor is James Henry Quilliam, whose address is at the offices of the undersigned in Devon Street, New Plymouth.

TARADALE TOWN BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Act, 1931, and of all other powers (if any) it enabling, the Taradale Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing moneys required to repay a special loan of £2,500 (known as Earthquake Rehabilitation Loan, 1931, No. 1), and to pay the interest thereon at the rate of four pounds (£4) per centum per annum, which loan is authorized to be raised by the Taradale Town Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of repairing damage caused by earthquake on the 3rd day of February, 1931, to, and the consequent rebuilding of, the Taradale Town Hall, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths (7/16) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Taradale Town District on the basis of the unimproved value, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, calculated from the date on which interest first commences to accrue on any portion of the said loan-moneys, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, calculated from the date aforesaid, being a period of twenty-five (25) years from such date, or until the said loan is fully paid off.
