NOTICE is hereby given that the matter mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written will be heard by the Native Land Court, sitting at Wairoa on the 8th day of February, 1932, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.

The Court will adjourn to Nuhaka and Opoutama on conclusion of business at Wairoa.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Timber in the North Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Tender.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 9th February, 1932.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o'clock p.m., on Friday, 11th March, 1932.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—HOBSON COUNTY.

Trownsen Kauri Park.

APPROXIMATELY 130,000 ft. kauri timber in logs.

Time for removal: Within one month of acceptance of tender.

TERMS OF PAYMENT.

Ten per cent. of amount of tender to be paid in cash within seven days after acceptance of tender, and the balance within one calendar month of acceptance.

CONDITIONS OF SALE.

  1. Intending purchasers are expected to satisfy themselves in every particular on all matters relating to the sale.
  2. The right is reserved to the Commissioner of Crown Lands to withdraw this timber from sale either before or after the date for receipt of tenders.
  3. The quantity is approximately correct, and tenders are to state the price per hundred superficial feet log measure.
  4. The timber will be delivered in logs f.o.r. at Donnelly's Crossing Railway Siding. Delivery cannot be given until the purchase-money is paid in full.
  5. In the event of the timber remaining unsold, applications may be received and dealt with at any time within six months hereafter (unless previously formally withdrawn).
  6. The highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted, and this timber is submitted for sale subject to the final acceptance of any tender by the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation.

Settlement Land in the Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 9th February, 1932.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Lands for Settlement Act, 1925, and amendments, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, at 4 o'clock p.m. on Friday, 4th March, 1932.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 8th March, 1932, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board, or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST CLASS LAND.

Levels County.—Oakwood Settlement.—Block XVI, Pareora Survey District.

SECTION 24: Area, 93 acres 2 roods 5 perches. Capital value, £1,975; half-yearly rent, £49 7s. 6d.

Loaded with £350 for improvements, consisting of dwelling and outbuildings (value £287), yards, wells, and concrete tank (value £10), 88 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing (value £41), and shelter-belts and culverts, &c. (value £8), such amount to be paid by a cash deposit of £50, balance of £300 to be secured by an instalment mortgage for a term of twenty-five years and a half with interest at 5 per cent. to a discharged soldier, and for a term of twenty-four years and a half with interest at 5½ per cent. for a civilian.

Situated on Spur Road, about four miles from Washdyke Post-office, school, and railway-station, and about seven miles from Timaru by fair gravelled road. Comprises about 30 acres of flat land, balance easy to steep downs, somewhat broken by creek and rocky terrace, about 10 to 12 acres being unploughable. Soil is good quality, resting on clay and rock formation. Altitude ranging from 100 ft. to 200 ft. Subdivided into ten paddocks, and watered by creek and dam. About 8 acres in wheat stubble, 3 acres in oat stubble, 8 acres sown in turnips, 24 acres in 1- to 3-year grass, 36 acres in old grass, 6 acres in fed-off green-feed, balance (8½ acres) in rough and homestead. Suitable for mixed farming and cropping, and probably for dairying if suitable pastures established. Improvements to value of £103, comprising 195 chains of boundary and subdivisional fencing included in the capital value.

Pastoral Runs in the Otago Land District, Otago Mining District, for License.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 10th February, 1932.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral runs will be opened for license in terms of the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 11th April, 1932.

Applicants should appear personally before the Land Board for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 13th April, 1932, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board, or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The land is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

Maniototo County.—Naseby Survey District—Otago Mining District.

Run 666: Area, 885 acres 3 roods. Half-yearly rent, £12 10s.
Run 667: Area, 1,142 acres. Half-yearly rent, £15.

The runs are practically adjoining the Town of Naseby, and Ranfurly Railway-station is about eight miles distant by good road. The runs, which are broken by old mine-workings, comprise mostly easy rolling hill country, carrying good rough native pasture, and are well watered by water-races. The soil is of a light loam resting on gravel formation, and the elevation ranges from about 2,000 ft. to 2,800 ft. above sea-level.
