Regulations under the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Act, 1931, making Provision regarding the Contributions to be levied by the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board from Contributory Local Authorities for the Year 1931–32.

WHEREAS by clause three of the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake (Hospital Finance) Regulations, 1931, it is provided that section forty-nine of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, shall not apply to certain Hospital Boards in respect of their expenditure for the financial year ending the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, but contributions towards such expenditure shall be levied on contributory local authorities pursuant to regulations to be thereafter made in that behalf under the authority of the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Act, 1931:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section sixty-six of the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Act, 1931, doth hereby make the regulations hereinafter set forth, prescribing the contributions to be paid to the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board by the contributory local authorities within its district for the year ending the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and making provision as to the recovery of such contributions and relating to interest on unpaid contributions for the year ended the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one.

REGULATIONS.

(1) THESE regulations may be cited as the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake (Hospital Finance) Regulations, 1931 (No. 4).

(2) The following contributions shall be payable by the respective contributory local authorities to the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board (hereinafter called “the said Board”) in respect of its expenditure for the financial year ending the 31st day of March, 1932, namely—

(3) Each of the said contributions shall be payable to the said Board by four equal instalments, due respectively on the 11th day of January, 1932, the 5th day of February, 1932, the 2nd day of March, 1932, and the 31st day of March, 1932.

(4) Subject to the last preceding clause the provisions of section 50 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, shall, with the necessary modifications, apply in respect of the said contributions as if they were amounts apportioned by the said Board to the said respective contributory local authorities in accordance with section 49 of the said Act of the due dates of which amounts the notice prescribed by the said section 50 had been duly given by the said Board, provided that no such notice by the said Board shall however be required.

(5) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (3) of section 50 of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926, interest shall not be payable on any instalment of contribution due and payable in respect of the year ended 31st March, 1931, except on such amount as is unpaid on the 25th day of January, 1932, from which date interest shall commence to run.

Arrangements for First Election, &c., Taupiri Drainage and River District.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint—

Reginald Percy Hazard, Esquire, of Hamilton,

to be Returning Officer and person to prepare the ratepayers roll in connection with the first election of the Board of the Taupiri Drainage and River District; also to appoint Saturday the 23rd day of January, 1932, to be the day for holding such election and—

The Taupiri Soldiers’ and Settlers’ Hall, Taupiri,
The Gordonton Public Hall, Gordonton,
The Residence of W. H. Worster, Esquire, Puketaha,
The Tauhei Public Hall, Tauhei,
The Ten Foot Hall, Ten Foot Road, Taupiri,
The Orini Public Hall, Orini, and
The Te Hoe Public Hall, Te Hoe,

to be the places for holding such election; and also to appoint Tuesday, the 26th day of January, 1932, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon, to be the day and the hour, and the office of the said Reginald Percy Hazard, Victoria Street, Hamilton, to be the place for holding the first meeting of the Board so elected.
