Appointment in the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointment in the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy:—

Commander (E) Rawdon Angus Fletcher, Royal Navy, to H.M.S. “Pembroke,” additional, for duty in H.M.S. “Dunedin” during refit, vice Baker, to date 5th October, 1931.

Ranger under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, appointed.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 35 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, the under-mentioned person has been appointed a Ranger under and for the purposes of that Act for the South Canterbury Acclimatization District:—

Consenting to the Sale by the Taranaki Electric-power Board of Land in Block VI, Huiroa Survey District, under the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section 92 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of every other power in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, the Minister of Public Works, do hereby consent to the sale by the Taranaki Electric-power Board of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the electric works for which it was acquired.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land authorized to be sold: 21 acres 1 rood 7 perches.

Being Lot 2, D.P. 5318, being part Section 5s, Ratapiko Settlement.

Situated in Block VI, Huiroa Survey District.

In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 82838, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IV, Hutt Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Methven, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

Declaring the “Appointed Day” for the Purposes of the Transport Licensing Act, 1931.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (3) of section 2 of the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare the 1st day of March, 1932, to be the appointed day for the purposes of the said Act.
