Approving of a Rear Red Reflector in Terms of the Motor-vehicle
(Supplementary) Regulations, 1928.

IN terms of Regulation 2 of the Motor-vehicle (Supplementary) Regulations, 1928, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the following rear red reflector for equipment to motor-vehicles, in terms of Regulation 5 of the said regulations, provided that and so long as the said reflector is identical in make, construction, and design, and similar in effect to the sample thereof deposited in the office of the Transport Department at Wellington, and marked according to the number indicated hereunder:—
"Lucas" Tail Lamp with Stop-light and Reflector combined: Sample No. 10.

New Zealand Inscribed Stock Act, 1917.—Closing of Registers.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registers of New Zealand 54-per-cent. Inscribed Stock, maturing 15th January, 1933, will be closed from the 1st January to the 15th January, 1932 (inclusive), for the purpose of the issue of half-yearly interest.

BOROUGH OF PATEA.
I, FRED RAMSBOTTOM, Mayor of the Borough of Patea, do hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Patea was taken on Wednesday, the 25th day of November, 1931, on the following proposal—namely, to raise by way of special loan the sum of £3,500 for the following undertaking, that is to say, alterations, extensions, and additions to the existing electrical reticulation, and purchasing all the necessary plant, tools, and fittings, and provision of financial assistance for consumers to change over their installations from 110 volts to 230 volts, and to secure the above loan and the repayment thereof, the payment of interest thereon at the rate of five pounds per centum per annum, and a sinking fund at the rate of three pounds per centum per annum, payable half-yearly for a period of twenty years commencing on the first day of December, 1931, the security shall be the undertaking itself, together with a special rate of five pence in the pound on the whole of the rateable property of the Borough of Patea. No interest, sinking fund, or other charges are to be paid out of the moneys realized by the said loan.
And I also give notice that there were forty-four votes recorded for and three votes recorded against the proposal; informal votes, Nil.
And I do hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

WHEREAS notice was published in the Gazette of the 20th August, 1931, that the Native Minister has decided to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to Karamu F 2 and other blocks of Native land or land owned by Natives in the Ikaroa Native Land Court District : And whereas the Native Minister has now decided that the Native land or land owned by Natives set out in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of subsection (3) of the said section 23, and shall be included in and form part of the Heretaunga Development Scheme. Notice of the Native Minister's intention is hereby given and published in accordance with the said subsection (3) which provides that no owner shall, except with the consent of the Native Minister, be entitled to exercise any rights of ownership in connection with the land affected so as to interfere with or obstruct the carrying-out of any works undertaken or to be undertaken under the said subsection (3).
