Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny (1/5d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan; being a period of five (5) years from the first day of March, 1932, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and by all other Acts and powers it in this behalf enabling, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves on the 19th day of November, 1931, as follows :
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of three thousand four hundred pounds (£3,400) to be known as " The Wellington City Mount Victoria Tunnel Loan (1920) Supplementary Loan, 1931 (No. 2)," authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of completing the undertaking for which the said Council raised the Wellington City Mount Victoria Tunnel Loan, 1929—namely, the construction of a new tunnel through Mount Victoria, in the City of Wellington —the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one three-hundredths of a penny (1/300d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six (36) years from the 31st day of January, 1932, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of shareholders of MESSRS. J. W. BARRACLOUGH AND Co., Ltd., held on the 18th inst., the following resolution was passed :—
" That the company go into voluntary liquidation, and that Mr. E. J. Woolf, of Christchurch, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of the winding-up."

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of J. H. Barnett, Public Accountant, Huddart-Parker Buildings, Wellington, on the 9th day of December, 1931, at 2.30 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before the company showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator ; and also of determining by an extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator shall be disposed of.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 9th day of November, 1931, presented to Mr. Justice Blair, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by Charles Francis Millward, of New Plymouth and Wanganui, Agent, carrying on business under the name or style of "C. F. Millward and Company," a creditor of the above-named company : And the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court at Wellington on Friday, the 11th day of December, 1931, at 10.30 o'clock a.m.; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
