Classification of Roads in Hutt County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and their amendments, I, William Burgoyne Taverner, Minister of Transport, do hereby alter the Hutt County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Hutt County, and do hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

HUTT COUNTY.

Roads classified in the Third Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 8 tons:—

Paekakariki Township: Beach Road (from Railway to Marine Parade).

Paraparaumu Township: Hinemoa Road.

Roads classified in the Fourth Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons:—

Wainui-o-mata Riding—
Moana Road.

Whareroa Riding—
Maungakatukutuku Road or Game Farm Road.
Otahanga Road.
Rangiora Road.
Ratanui Road.
Soldiers Road.
Valley Road (to top Waterfall Gully).
Waterfall Road.

Paekakariki Township Roads—
Ames Road.
Aperehama Road.
Cecil Road.
Henare Road.
Marine Parade.
Mira Road.
Ocean Road.
Paneta Road.
Pingau Road.
Robertson Road.
Tilley Road.
Tongahoe Road.
Wellington Road.

Paraparaumu Township Roads—
Paraparaumu Road (from Paraparaumu Township to Paraparaumu Beach Road).

Tongariro Road.

Paraparaumu Beach Roads—
Ahern Road.
Arawa Road.
Bluegum Road.
Eatwell Road.
Groves Road.
Howell Road.
Hydes Road.
Marine Parade.

Rata Road (or W. Clunie’s Road).

Including Additional Land in the Oraka Development Scheme.

Office of the Native Minister,
Wellington, 29th January, 1931.

WHEREAS notice was published in the Gazette and Kahili of the 24th July, 1930, that the Native Minister has decided to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to Oraka Section 2B and other blocks of Native land, or land owned by Natives, in the South Island Native Land Court District: And whereas the Native Minister has now decided that the Native land or land owned by Natives set out in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of subsection (3) of the said section 23, and shall be included in and form part of the Oraka Development Scheme. Notice of the Native Minister’s intention is hereby given and published in accordance with the said subsection (3) which provides that no owner shall, except with the consent of the Native Minister, be entitled to exercise any rights of ownership in connection with the land affected so as to interfere with or obstruct the carrying-out of any works undertaken or to be undertaken under the said subsection (3).
