REGULATIONS—continued.

  1. For the outward journey the following certificate must be endorsed on
    the consignment-note by the consignor:

    I hereby certify that the boat entered hereon is being forwarded
    from ____ to ____ exclusively for the purpose of being used
    in contests at ____ Regatta, and that the crews of the boat will travel
    by rail to and from such regatta.

  2. On the return journey the following certificate must be endorsed on the
    consignment-note by the consignor:-

    I hereby certify that the boat entered hereon was consigned
    from ____ to ____ on ____, and that it has been used
    exclusively in contests at ____ Regatta.

  3. Catering-material.

  4. Catering-material such as cutlery, crockery, silverware, table tops, trestles,
    marquees, baths, tea-urns, table-cloths, tea-towels, glassware, basins, boilers,
    and other incidentals to be used exclusively for catering, will, in respect to all
    journeys made by rail, be charged the Class A rate less 12½ per cent., provided
    that a certificate in the following form, signed by the consignor in each case is
    endorsed on the consignment-note:-

    I hereby certify that the catering-material entered hereon is being
    forwarded from ____ to ____, and will be [has been] used ex-
    clusively for catering purposes at the ____ [Insert name of event].

  5. The Department may decline to extend the benefit of this regulation to
    any person who uses other means of transport than the railway for the carriage
    of catering-material when the railway is available for the transport of such material.

  6. Furniture-vans and Household Removals.

  7. Furniture and household effects, including sewing-machines, pianos,
    organs, perambulators, and go-carts, in furniture vans or transports, will be
    charged Class B computed on the gross weight of the van or transport and con-
    tents; minimum weight, 3 tons per four-wheeled wagon, 4 tons per bogie wagon.

  8. Furniture-vans or transports returning empty after having been conveyed
    loaded by rail, or when being forwarded empty to be returned loaded by rail,
    will be conveyed at the rate for wagons (Regulation 84), no extra charge
    being made for vans or transports over 1 ton in weight.

  9. Bona fide household removals consisting of articles which have actually
    been in use in a household, including sewing-machines, pianos, organs, peram-
    bulators, and go-carts will be charged Class B and conveyed at the sole risk of
    the owner. Minimum weight per consignment, 1 ton. Persons desiring the
    exclusive use of a wagon for such household removals may be allowed such exclusive
    use at a minimum charge as for 3 tons at Class B for each four-wheeled
    wagon.

  10. All loading and unloading to be performed by the owners, but where
    the loading or unloading is performed by the Department, a charge of 1s. 5d. per
    ton will be made for each service.

  11. Circuses.

  12. Circuses conveyed by ordinary trains will be charged as follows:-
    Animals, living, including animals in cages, at the Class M rate (truck
    rate only).
    Vehicles, empty, at rates for carts, drays, &c. (Regulation 84).
    Vehicles loaded with material, or in same truck with material, as material.
    (See below.)

  13. Material, 8d. per four-wheel truck, not otherwise specified, per mile ;
    1s. 1d. per LA truck per mile ; 1s. 5d. per bogie R, U, or 30 ft. Z truck per mile ;
    2s. 1d. per bogie RB, UB, or 47½ ft. Z truck per mile. Minimum charge as for
    30 miles in each case.

  14. Circuses for which special trains are ordered by the owners will be
    charged as follows:-

Minimum charge for a special train, £28.
4. The distance which a train has to run to commence a service will be charged
at the rate of 7s. 6d. per mile.
5. Special trains will be run only at the option of the Department.
6. Owners must take all responsibility in regard to accidents to their employees
and damage to their goods, and do all loading and unloading of circus and plant.
They will also be liable for the expense of making good any damage done to the
Department's rolling-stock in connection with the loading, unloading, or carriage
of any circus.
