Classification of Roads in Pahiatua County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and their amendments, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Pahiatua County Council's alteration in the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Pahiatua County.

SCHEDULE.

PAHIATUA COUNTY.

ROADS classified in the Second Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 8 tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 10 tons.

No. 15.-Wellington-Napier (via Wairarapa) Main Highway (all that portion within the Pahiatua County). No. 84.-Pahiatua-Pahiatua Railway-station Main Highway.

Roads classified in the Third Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 8 tons.

Makairo Main Road. Mangahao-Ballance Road. Mangaone Valley Road. No. 61.-Pahiatua-Pongaroa Main Highway. Pahiatua-Kaitawa Road. Pahiatua Railway-station - Palmerston Track, via Makomako Road. Tiraumea North Road.

Excluding Land from Waahi (Huntly) Development Scheme.

Wellington, 21st October, 1931.

WHEREAS notice was published in the Gazette of the 13th March, 1930, that the Native Minister had decided to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to Lot 171A (part), Parish of Pepepe, and other subdivisions of Native land or land owned by Natives in the Waikato-Maniapoto Native Land Court District: And whereas the Native Minister has now decided that the blocks mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall no longer be subject to the provisions of subsection (3) of the said section 23, it is hereby notified that such land is excluded from the said Waahi (Huntly) Development Scheme accordingly.

WHEREAS notice was published in the Gazette of the 20th August, 1931, that the Native Minister has decided to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to Karamu F2 and other blocks of Native land or land owned by Natives in the Ikaroa Native Land Court District: And whereas the Native Minister has now decided that the Native land or land owned by Natives set out in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions

of subsection (3) of the said section 23, and shall be included in and form part of the Heretaunga Development Scheme. Notice of the Native Minister's intention is hereby given and published in accordance with the said subsection (3), which provides that no owner shall, except with the consent of the Native Minister, be entitled to exercise any rights of ownership in connection with the land affected so as to interfere with or obstruct the carrying-out of any works undertaken or to be undertaken under the said subsection (3).

Excluding Land from Onewhero Development Scheme.

Wellington, 21st October, 1931.

WHEREAS notice was published in the Gazette of the 8th October, 1931, that the Native Minister had decided to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to Waikarakia 1, and other blocks of Native Land or land owned by Natives in the Waikato-Maniapoto Native Land Court District: And whereas the Native Minister has now decided that the block mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall no longer be subject to the provisions of subsection (3) of the said section 23, it is hereby notified that such land is excluded from the Onewhero Development Scheme accordingly.

THE FOLLOWING LAND SITUATE IN THE WAIKATO-MANIAPO TO NATIVE LAND COURT DISTRICT.

Child Welfare Amendment Act, 1927.-Children's Home registered.

IN pursuance of the power vested in me by section 6, subsection (1), of the Child Welfare Amendment Act, 1927, I, Robert Masters, Minister of Education, do hereby notify that the Papakura Masonic Home, Beach Road, Papakura, has been registered as a Children's Home as from the date hereof.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officers, at the addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid.
