NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee has filed in the Supreme Court an election to administer in respect of the several estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations (so far as known) are hereunder set forth.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Marriage Act, 1908, the following names of Officiating Ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information :—

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part III), and Amendments.
WHEREAS it has been reported to the Public Trustee that Charles John Stokes, formerly of Auckland, in the Provincial District of Auckland, New Zealand, Farmer, and late of San Francisco, in the United States of America, is the owner of the following property, the gross value of which is less than £1,000, namely :—
Amount due on repayment of mortgage No. 51921 from Kathleen Wallace to the said Charles John Stokes, £100 ; together with accrued interest on the mortgage, amounting to £111 10s., more or less.
And whereas it is not known where the said Charles John Stokes is, or whether he is alive or dead : And whereas it is provided by Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (relating to unclaimed property), as amended by section 41 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, that where the value of unclaimed real or personal property does not exceed £1,000 the Public Trustee (with the consent of the Public Trust Office Board) may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to exercise the powers contained in section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, as amended by section 36 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1913, and may exercise the same without application to the Court : And whereas the said consent of the Public Trust Office Board has been duly given : Now, the Public Trustee hereby gives notice that he intends to take possession of the personal property above mentioned, and to exercise in respect thereof the powers conferred on him in and by the provisions of the said section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, as amended by section 36 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1913.

CROWN LANDS NOTICE.
Land in Canterbury Land District for Lease by Public Tender.
Lands and Survey Department,
Christchurch, 28th July, 1931.
NOTICE is hereby given that separate tenders for leases of the undermentioned lands will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 31st August, 1931, under the provisions of section 366 of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
AMURI COUNTY.—LYNDON SURVEY DISTRICT.
Lot 1, part Reserve 3941, Block II : Area, 21 acres 1 rood 10 perches. Upset yearly rental, £7 10s.
Lot 2, part Reserve 3941, Block II : Area, 33 acres, 1 rood 18 perches. Upset yearly rental, £7 10s.
Lot 3, part Reserve 3941, Block II : Area, 20 acres 2 roods 19 perches. Upset yearly rental, £20.
These areas were formerly held by the State Forest Service, and comprise the block known as “Dog Creek Area.”
Lots 1 and 2 have a frontage to Scarborough Terrace, and include the bed of Dog Creek. There is some broom and blackberry on both blocks, but a fair amount of grazing is available.
Lot 3 is the nursery flat, fronting Amuri Road, and is ring-fenced. This block is very handy to Hanmer Township, and is suitable for grazing or as a holding paddock. This area is practically free from broom or blackberry.
Conditions of Leases.

The leases of Lots 1 and 2 will each be for a period of ten years with right of renewal for one further term of ten years.

The lease of Lot 3 will be for a period of three years, without right of renewal.

The lessees of Lots 1 and 2 will be required to keep all broom, blackberry, and other noxious weeds in check, and to clear their respective areas of same within five years from date of lease.

In no case will be lessee be entitled to compensation for improvements, but he may, on the expiry or sooner determination of the lease, remove all improvements erected by him, but not otherwise.
Tenders, accompanied by one half-year’s rent at the rate offered, should be addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Christchurch, and marked on the outside “Tender, Dog Creek Area.”
