Lands in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 20th April, 1931.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 25th May, 1931.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 27th May, 1931, at 10 o'clock a.m.; but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.-SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Waitomo County.--Mapara Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.)
SECTIONS 1 and 6, Block I : Area, 419 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £310. Half-yearly rent, £6 4s.
After payment of the first half-year's rent, lease fee, and broken-period rent (if any) no rental will be charged for a period of three years, provided improvements to value of £31 are effected annually during the exemption period.
Weighted with £620, for improvements comprising house (three rooms), house (five rooms, unfinished), cow-shed, shed, about 350 chains fencing, and about 160 acres worn-out pasture. This amount may be paid in cash, or taken over by way of first mortgage to the State Advances Department for a term of thirty years, with interest at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum. Half-yearly instalment under mortgage £22 8s.
Situated about four miles from Puketutu Railway-station and about ten miles from Te Kuiti School (by rail).
About 50 acres comprise flat tea-tree ploughable country; balance area is undulating to hilly.
Soil is of a light nature and responds well to top-dressing. Watered by running streams and springs.
Whangamomona County.--Ngatimaru Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for five years.)
Section 21, Block XV: Area, 200 acres. Capital value, £150. Half-yearly rent, £3.
After payment of first half-year's rent, lease fee, and broken-period rent (if any), no further rent will be charged for a period of five years, provided improvements to value of £15 are effected annually during the exemption period.
Weighted with £130, for improvements comprising about 140 acres felled and grassed and about 125 chains fencing. This amount may be paid in cash, or taken over by way of first mortgage to the State Advances Department for a term of twenty years at 6 per cent. per annum. Half-yearly instalment under mortgage £5 12s. 5d.
The property is situated on the Tututawa Road, about ten miles from the Douglas Railway-station and about four miles from the Tututawa Post-office and dairy factory. Three miles is only a six-foot track. Soil is of fair quality and the country, for the greater part, easy. Ragwort is prevalent and in its present condition area is unsuitable as a separate holding.
