Lands temporarily reserved in the Marlborough Land District
for River-protection Purposes.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section
of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-
General may from time to time set apart temporarily as
reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held
under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion
are required for any of the purposes in the said section
mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by
the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the
lands in the Marlborough Land District described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for river-protection purposes.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing
l acre and 30 perches, more or less, being portion of the old
bed of the Opawa River, and now known as Section 2,
Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District. Bounded as
follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of Sec-
tion 71, Omaka; thence in an easterly direction by lines
bearing and measuring respectively 15° 06', 161·8 links; 38°
28', 304·6 links; 77° 10', 227·1 links; 98° 38', 378·9 links;
125° 32', 658·9 links; 115° 56', 225·5 links, to the north-
western corner of Section l of 10B, Block XVI, Cloudy Bay
Survey District; thence southerly by Section l of 10B, 53·7
links, to the old bank of the Opawa River; thence in a
westerly direction by the northern boundary of Section 12,
Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District, to the point of
commencement; be all the aforesaid measurements a little
more or less.
Also all that area in the said Land District, containing
l acre 3 roods 22 perches, more or less, being portion of the
said river-bed and now known as Section 3, Block XVI,
Cloudy Bay Survey District. Bounded as follows: Com-
mencing at the northernmost point on the original river-
bank; thence in a southerly direction generally by lines
bearing and measuring respectively 158° 24', 50 links; 235°
43', 551·8 links; 255° 07', 627·9 links; 233° 20', 486·5 links;
181° 14', 567·5 links; 171° 15', 348·5 links, to a public road;
thence westerly 301° 28', 60 links, to the original river-bank
boundary of Section 71, Omaka; and thence in a northerly
direction by the boundaries of that portion of Section 71,
Omaka, described in the Gazette of 25th November, 1926, to
the point of commencement; be all the aforesaid measure-
ments a little more or less.
Also all that area in the said Land District, containing
7 acres and 8 perches, more or less, being portions of the said
river-bed and of Section 13, Block XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey
District, and now known as Section 4, Block XVI, Cloudy
Bay Survey District. Bounded as follows: Commencing at
Peg XIIA in the old bed of the Opawa River; thence in a
south-easterly direction by lines bearing and measuring respec-
tively 146° 16', 712 links; 94° 20', 621·8 links; 124° 47',
957·6 links; 136° 25', 787·5 links; and 152° 35', 192·1 links,
to Robinson Street; thence westerly by Robinson Street,
75·5 links; thence north-westerly by Section part 13, Block
XVI, Cloudy Bay Survey District, to a public road, 47 links
wide; thence northerly by that road 290·9 links to a public
road 100 links wide; and thence easterly by that road 740·9
links to the point of commencement; be all the aforesaid
measurements a little more or less.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked L. and S. 22/3200B, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red.

Member appointed to the Pongaroa Scenic Board.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the seventh day of
August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
eight, and published in the Gazette of the ninth day of that
month, the control of a certain reserve in the Wellington
Land District, known as the Pongaroa Scenic Reserve, was
vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the
said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of
the Pongaroa Scenic Board, in pursuance of section thirteen
of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908: And whereas it is
desirable that George Theodore Norman, Esquire, of Pongaroa,
should be appointed a member of the said Board, in place of
Ernest Ronaldson McIntyre, Esquire, of Pongaroa, resigned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers conferred on him by section thirteen of the Scenery
Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities
enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint the said
George Theodore Norman
to be a member of the Pongaroa Scenic Board constituted by
the Warrant dated the seventh day of August, hereinbefore
referred to, in place of the said Ernest Ronaldson McIntyre.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 25th day of March, 1931.
