CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SECURITY RATE.

Sydenham Waterworks No. 2 Redemption Loan, 1931 (£5,590).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of five thousand five hundred and ninety pounds (£5,590), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming balance of loan of £6,340 raised on the 31st March, 1907, renewed on the 31st March, 1921, and maturing on the 31st March, 1931, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-one-thousand-nine-hundred-and-forty-one two-million-five-hundred-thousandths (31,941/2,500,000ths) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the Sydenham Waterworks No. 2 Redemption Loan Special-rating Area, which includes the whole area of the City of Christchurch as constituted on the 1st day of April, 1903, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the resolution passed by the Christchurch City Council on the 2nd day of March, 1931.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME.

I, HORI ROBERTSON THOMAS, heretofore named HORI ROBERTSON, but generally known as HORI ROBERTSON THOMAS, of the City of Wellington, New Zealand, Theatrical Artist, hereby give public notice that on the 11th day of December, 1930, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my surname of “Robertson,” and then assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “Thomas” instead of the said name of “Robertson” as a surname; and I give further notice that by deed dated the 11th day of December, 1930, duly executed and attested, and filed in the City of Wellington in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand on the 26th day of February, 1931, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of “Robertson,” and declared that I did assume and adopt and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “Thomas,” instead of “Robertson” as such surname as aforesaid, and so as to be at all times hereafter called, known, and described by the name of “Thomas” exclusively, and using the name “Robertson” as a middle name only.
