In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments, and in the matter of THE EMPIRE TOBACCO CORPORATION, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 10th day of December, 1930, presented to the Honourable Mr. Justice Herdman, a Judge of this Honourable Court, by Thomas Edward Flanagan, of Wanganui, carpenter, a creditor of the said company, and the said Petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on Tuesday, the 3rd day of February, 1931; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

DUNEDIN DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE BOARD.

COPY OF RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE DUNEDIN DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE BOARD ON WEDNESDAY, THE 10TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1930.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Dunedin District Drainage and Sewerage Amendment Act, 1930, the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100,000, being the first instalment of a sum of £250,000 authorized to be raised by the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board under the above-mentioned Act, the said Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny farthing (1¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board on the above-mentioned date.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of £4 per annum, including postage, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette as follows:—

Ordinary Weekly Gazette: For the first 32 pages, 9d., increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.

Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes: For the first 8 pages, 6d.; over 8 pages and not exceeding 32 pages, 9d.; increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.

Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 3 o’clock of the day preceding publication.

ROLL OF HONOUR just published by the DEFENCE DEPARTMENT, giving—

(1) A list of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces killed in action, died of wounds inflicted, of accidents occurring, or disease contracted while on active service.

(2) Those who died after discharge from the New Zealand Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or disease contracted while on active service.

(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease contracted while training with or attached to the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces of New Zealand.
