IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section three hundred and fifty-nine of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the North Auckland, Auckland, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Canterbury, and Otago Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written for the purposes specified in the said Schedule.

Opening Settlement Lands in Otago Land District for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the ninth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Clutha County.—Waipahi Survey District.—Arthurton Settlement.

DESCRIPTION OF SECTIONS.

Section 1s: Approximately 1,100 acres in virgin state, good tussock grazing; balance in pasture land, less about 45 acres under cultivation for crops. Good permanent water-supply.

Section 2s: Approximately 732 acres virgin state, good tussock grazing; balance in pasture. Good permanent water-supply.

Section 3s: Approximately 400 acres tussock, good grazing; balance in pasture, less about 85 acres under cultivation for crops. Good permanent water-supply.

Section 4s: Approximately 360 acres virgin tussock state, good grazing; balance pasture, less about 80 acres under cultivation for crops. Good permanent water-supply.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION.

Arthurton Settlement, previously known as “Golden Valley” Estate, is situated approximately one mile and a half from Waipahi Railway-station, school, and post-office, and Arthurton Railway-siding is about one mile distant from Section 1s.
