Summer Time.

Prime Minister’s Office,
Wellington, 3rd October, 1930.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, under the Summer Time Act, 1929, summer time commences at 2 o’clock New Zealand standard time in the morning of Sunday, the 12th instant, and ends at 2 o’clock, New Zealand standard time, in the morning of Sunday, 15th March, 1931. For the purpose of giving effect to the Act the time will therefore be advanced thirty minutes as from 2 a.m., New Zealand standard time, on Sunday, the 12th instant, and be put back thirty minutes as from 2 a.m., New Zealand standard time, on Sunday, 15th March, 1931.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor, Nelson City Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

CITY OF NELSON.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the City of Nelson, taken on the 30th day of September, 1930, on a proposal of the Nelson City Council to borrow the sum of one thousand seven hundred pounds (£1,700) for the purpose of purchasing a fire-engine with ladder and other equipment, the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 743; against the proposal, 205.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Dated at Nelson, this 1st day of October, 1930.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the City of Nelson, taken on the 30th day of September, 1930, on a proposal of the Nelson City Council to borrow the sum of twenty-eight thousand pounds (£28,000) for the purpose of extending gas-manufacturing plant, the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 729; against the proposal, 221.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

TARADALE TOWN BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Taradale, taken on the 17th day of September, 1930, on the proposal of the Taradale Town Board to borrow the sum of twelve hundred and fifty pounds (£1,250) for the purchase and improvement of land for Park Extension, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 126; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 65.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

MOUNT WELLINGTON ROAD DISTRICT.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Mount Wellington Road District, taken on the 16th day of September, 1930, on a proposal of the Mount Wellington Road Board to borrow the sum of £20,000 (twenty thousand pounds) for the purposes of providing a water-supply within the Mount Wellington Road District, including the laying of a main not less than six (6) inches in diameter down the Mount Wellington Highway from the Waipuna Road to the New Brighton Cross Road, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 202; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 46; informal, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Classification of Roads in Matamata County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and their amendments, I, William Burgoyne Taverner, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Matamata County Council’s proposed classification of the roads or alteration in the classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Matamata County.


SCHEDULE.

MATAMATA COUNTY.

ROADS classified in the Fifth Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 2½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 4½ tons.

Old Te Aroha Road, from Te Poi to junction with No. 18 Main Highway, at Tapapa Smithy.

Somerville’s Road, from Old Te Aroha Road to Okoroire Springs.

Totman’s Road, Okoroire.

Webster’s (or Mangapouri) Road.

White’s Road (Putaruru to Tapapa).

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for W. F. Cosgrave and Hospitals Trust, Ltd., Dublin.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the person and organization whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person or organization shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person or organization (either by his own or its own or any fictitious or assumed name) or addressed to either of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.
