Waimarino County—Whirinaki Survey District.
Section 1, Block I : Area, 837 acres. Capital value, £200.
Half-yearly rent, £4.
Situat ed on the Te Mata Road in the Mangapurua Block.
Access is from Mangapurua Landing by nine miles of formed
bridle-track, or from Raetihi by five miles of bridle-track,
eighteen miles of formed clay-road, and fifteen miles of
metalled road.
Steep, broken, hilly country. Fifty-six acres have been
felled and grassed, but have now reverted to dense second
growth. Forest consists principally of tawhero and tawa.
Altitude, 900 ft. to 1,700 ft. above sea-level. Well watered.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of October, 1930.

Opening Lands in the Wellington Land District for Sale or Selection.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the
amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received
the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided
by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do
hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto
shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-fourth
day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty; and
also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the
option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred
payments, or be selected on renewal lease; and I do hereby
also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied,
or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and
do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or
leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act,
1924, and the amendments thereof.


SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Waimarino County.—Whirinaki Survey District.
SECTION 2, Block III : Area, 878 acres. Capital value, £220.
Deposit on deferred payments, £20 ; half-yearly instalment
on deferred payments, £6 10s. Renewable lease : Half-yearly
rent, £4 8s.
Weighted with £295, for improvements consisting of felling
and grassing, 78 chains of fencing, and whare 24 ft. by 12 ft.,
with shingle roof, in a dilapidated condition. A cash deposit
of £50 is required, and balance of purchase-money may be
secured on instalment mortgage under the Discharged Soldiers
Settlement Act for a term of twenty years, and bearing
interest at 5 per cent. per annum if purchased by a discharged
soldier or 5½ per cent. per annum if purchased by a civilian.
This section is situated on the left bank of the Koukawa
Stream, with frontage to Raetihi-Ohura Road, which is un-
formed. Access is from Raetihi Railway-station by twelve
miles metalled road, fifteen miles formed dray-road, and five
miles bridle-track.
Steep broken country, running to high birch ridges. Three
hundred acres have been felled and grassed, but about 170
acres have reverted to second growth ; balance of section is
in standing bush. Forest is medium to heavy, and consists
of tawhero, beech, rimu, matai, and tawa, with the usual under-
growth. Soil of light quality. Altitude, 1,400 ft. to 1,800 ft.
above sea-level.

Kaitieke County.—Manganui Survey District.
Section 3, Block I : Area, 862 acres. Capital value, £215.
Deposit on deferred payments, £15 ; half-yearly instalment on
deferred payments, £6 10s. Renewable lease : Half-yearly
rent, £4 6s.
Weighted with £130, for improvements comprising felling
and grassing, fencing, and dwelling of three rooms, now in a
dilapidated condition. This sum is payable in cash.
The section is situated on the left bank of the Ruatiti Stream,
with frontage to the Ruatiti-Crua Road. Crua Railway-
station is eighteen miles distant, by sixteen miles of formed
dray-road and two miles bridle-track. About 355 acres have
been felled and grassed, of which some 300 acres have reverted
to second growth ; balance of area is in mixed bush comprising
rimu, matai, tawhero, and beech.
Permanently watered. Altitude, 1,900 ft. to 2,300 ft. above
sea-level. Soil of light clay resting on papa formation.

Opening Land in the Southland Land District for Sale or Selection.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles,
Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary
in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-
six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on
Monday, the seventeenth day of November, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty, and also that the land mentioned
in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be
purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected
on renewable lease ; and I do hereby also fix the price at which
the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased as that men-
tioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the
said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject
to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Wallace County.—Aparima Hundred.
SECTION 15, Block V: Area, 276 acres 1 rood 3 perches.
Capital value, £350. Deposit on deferred payments, £20 ;
half - yearly instalment on deferred payments, £10 14s. 6d.
Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £7.
Situated about two miles and a half from Ringway Siding
and three miles and a quarter from Otatau Railway-station,
school, and post-office. Altitude, 360 ft. to 600 ft. above
sea-level.
Fair soil on clay subsoil. Land undulating, but ranges are
fairly easy. Well watered by permanent streams.
Suitable for dairying when felled and grassed.

General, this 6th day of October, 1930.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Otago Land District.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth sec-
tion of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the
Governor-General may from time to time, either by general
or particular description, and whether the same has been
surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral
license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required
for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me
by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the
lands in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule
specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands
so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by
admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 14·8 perches, more or less, being
Sections 1, 2, 3, 36, and 37, Block XXXII, Town of Havelock,
and bounded as follows : Towards the north by Section 4,
250 links ; towards the east by Fulwell Street, 430 links ;
towards the south by Hylton Street, 430 links ; and towards
the west by Section 35, 250 links, and Section 38, 10·6 links.
(For a site for public buildings of the General Government.)
Also, all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by
admeasurement 4 acres 0 roods 28 perches, more or less, being
Sections 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and part 34,
Block XXXIII, Town of Havelock, and bounded as follows :
Towards the north by a public street, 266·4 links ; towards
the north-west by said street, 524·4 links ; towards the
north-east by a public street, 49·6 links ; towards the south-
east by part of Section 34, taken for railway purposes, 1105
links, and part of Section 36, taken for railway purposes,
45·8 links ; towards the south by Section 15, 250 links ;
towards the west by Fulwell Street, 829·8 links : be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. (For purposes of the General
Government.)
As the same are more particularly shown on the plan marked
L. and S. 6/7/30, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 6th day of October, 1930.
