Amending Regulations under the Agricultural Labourers' Accommodation Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of October, 1930.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Agricultural Labourers' Accommodation Act, 1908, and its amendment, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations under the said Act dated the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and published in the Gazette of the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare that the amendments hereby made shall take effect as from the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

THE regulations hereinbefore referred to are hereby amended as follows:—

  1. Regulation 1 of the said regulations is hereby amended by inserting after the word “sawmills” the words “or for workers employed at market-gardening.”

  2. The following new regulations are hereby inserted after Regulation 1 of the said regulations:—

1A. Without in any way limiting the general meaning of the phrase “market-gardening,” any worker employed at growing tomatoes or growing potatoes shall be deemed to be employed at market-gardening.

1B. When workers of both sexes are employed, accommodation separate from that provided for the male workers shall be provided for the female workers.

Counties of Rotorua and Taupo declared a Special District under the Auctioneers Act, 1928.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of October, 1930.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by section twenty-eight of the Auctioneers Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made under the said Act on the third day of April, nineteen hundred and twenty-nine, and published in the Gazette on the eleventh day of the same month at page 960, in so far as it declares the County of Rotorua to be a Special District for the purposes of the said Act, known as the Rotorua District, and doth hereby declare that the area comprised in the Counties of Rotorua and Taupo (being a part of the Dominion which is sparsely populated) shall be a special district for the purposes of the said Act, and shall be known by the name of “The Rotorua-Taupo District.”

Declaring a Native to be a European.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of October, 1930.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Order in Council, on the recommendation of the Native Land Court, declare any Native to be a European:

And whereas Mary Earle Stephenson, of Russell, being a Native within the meaning of the Native Land Act, 1909, applied in the prescribed form for a recommendation of the Court that she might be declared a European: And whereas the said Court, having duly inquired into the said application, has recommended that an Order in Council be issued declaring the said Mary Earle Stephenson to be a European: And whereas it is expedient that such declaration should be made:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said Mary Earle Stephenson to be a European.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Culverden Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of October, 1930.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Hugh Robert Davison,
John James Gallagher,
John Vernon Harrison,
James Hoban,
William John McMillan,
William Valentine Mockett, and
Duncan Leslie Rutherford

to be the Culverden Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Friday, the thirty-first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at half past seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Culverden Hall, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CULVERDEN DOMAIN.

RESERVE No. 3758, Block VI, Culverden Survey District (Culverden Settlement): Area, 18 acres 2 roods 31 perches.
