PART IX.—OFFENCES AND PENALTIES.

OFFENCES.

  1. Every person who does or omits, or causes, or knowingly permits or suffers to be done or omitted, any act, matter, or thing contrary to the provisions hereof, or fails to comply with any requirement hereby imposed on such person, shall be deemed to have committed a breach of this by-law, and if such act or omission or failure occurs on more than one day such person shall be deemed to have committed a separate breach of this by-law on every day on which such act or omission or failure has occurred.

PENALTIES.

  1. Every person who commits a breach of this by-law shall be liable for every such breach to a fine not exceeding £20.

The common seal of the Auckland Fire Board was hereto affixed pursuant to a resolution in that behalf duly passed and in the presence of the undersigned members and Secretary thereof, this 27th day of August, 1930.

Result of Election of a Member of the Opotiki and Tauranga Fire Boards by Fire Insurance Companies.

THE following result of the election of a member of the Opotiki and Tauranga Fire Boards by fire-insurance companies has been reported to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and is notified in accordance with the rules under the Fire Brigades Act, 1926:

Opotiki Fire Board : Charles Herbert Wyatt.

Tauranga Fire Board : Charles Herbert Wyatt.

Notice making and levying Rates under the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926.

Department of Lands and Survey,

Wellington, 11th September, 1930.

I, ETHELBERT ALFRED RANSOM, Minister of Lands, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1926, doth hereby make and levy upon the unimproved value of all lands liable to be rated pursuant to that Act a rate for the year ending on 31st March, 1931, on a graduated scale, as specified on the Schedule hereto, according to the classification of the land.

The said rate will be payable in one sum on the 16th day of September, 1930, to the Collector of Rates for the Hauraki Plains Rating District, at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, at which office the rate-book will be open for inspection.

A copy of the rate-book may be inspected by ratepayers at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer at Kerepeehi at all times at which that office is open for transaction of public business.

SCHEDULE.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class A by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act, four pence and sixty-two one-hundredths of a penny in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class B by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act, two pence and sixty-four one-hundredths of a penny in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands classified as Class C by the Appraiser appointed under the said Act, sixty-six one-hundredths of a penny in the pound.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 54 of the Land Act, 1924, approved of meetings of the Auckland Land Board being held at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, at 10 o'clock a.m., on Tuesday, 27th January, 24th February, 24th March, 28th April, 26th May, 30th June, 28th July, 25th August, 29th September; Wednesday, 28th October, Tuesday, 24th November, 15th December, during the year 1931.

Disestablishment of Milton Technical School Board.

Education Department,

Wellington, 3rd September, 1930.

IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and the amendments of that Act, and with the powers thereunder, I, Harry Atmore, Minister of Education, do hereby, on the application of the Otago Education Board, direct that from the date of the publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette the immediate control of the Milton Technical School shall pass from the Board of Managers of such school to the Otago Education Board; and that from the aforesaid date of publication such Board of Managers shall be and shall be deemed to be dissolved, and that all the property, rights, and liabilities of such Board of Managers shall thereupon vest in and become the property, rights, and liabilities of the Otago Education Board.
