IN accordance with section 24, subsection (2), of the Electrical Wiremen’s Registration Act, 1925, a return for the quarter ending 30th June, 1930, showing the names and addresses of persons whose names have been removed from the registers kept pursuant to the Electrical Wiremen’s Registration Act, is published for general information.

SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—KERMADEC GROUP.

Amended Positions of Islands.

Position: Macauley Island in Lat. 30° 15′ S., long. 178° 32′ W. (approx.).

Details: In November, 1929, Capt. A. T. Norton, m.s. “Hauraki,” drew attention to the apparent positions of Macauley and Curtis Islands being found different to those given on Admiralty charts of that locality.

The Commodore Commanding New Zealand Station in H.M.S. “Dunedin,” now submits the following approximate errors in the charted positions of the Kermadec Islands:—

SUNDAY ISLAND—About 1 mile east of its charted position.

MACAULEY ISLAND and MACDONALD ROCK—4·8 miles 048° from their charted positions.

CURTIS and CHEESMAN ISLANDS—4·5 miles 017° from their charted positions.

The positions given are not to be regarded as absolutely accurate.

Light re-established.

Former Notice: Wellington Notice No. 10 of 1930.

Position: Lat. 37° 33′ S., long. 178° 19′ E.

Details: This light, which was temporarily discontinued in March, 1930, has been re-established.

Charts affected: 3500—2527—1212.
