Minister's Decisions under Customs Acts.
Customs Department, Wellington, 30th June, 1930.
IT is hereby notified for public information that the Hon. the Minister of Customs has decided to interpret the Customs Acts in relation to the undermentioned articles as follows:
NOTES. - (a) "Not elsewhere included" appears as n.e.i.; "other kinds" as o.k.; "articles and materials suited for, and to be used solely in, the fabrication or repair of goods within New Zealand" as a. and m.s. (b) Articles marked thus † are revised decisions. (c) Wherever the General Tariff rate shown opposite any goods enumerated in these decisions is lower than that provided for in the First Schedule to the Customs Amendment Act, 1927, action has been taken by the Minister under section 11 of the Customs Amendment Act, 1927. In such cases the reduced rate is marked with an asterisk. (d) Steam-engines, gas-engines, oil-engines, and electric or other motors, are not, unless otherwise indicated, to be regarded as parts of the machines with which they are imported.

Copper sheets, hammered, oxydized, and lacquered, for the manufacture of fenders and kerbs Iron and tinned iron stampings in the rough.. Knobs, rail-supports, and terminals of brass, also metal handles, hinges, and similar articles, whether lacquered or otherwise (Note.--Revises decisions on pages 79 and 83 of Tariff-book.) Glass circles, bevelled, on declaration that they will be sold only to the N.Z. Railway Depart- ment for use in the manufacture or repair of railway lamps Platedware, articles and materials used in the manufacture of, viz.,— Stampings or spinnings, not built up, of metal (other than precious metal) once buffed, on declaration by an electroplater that they will be plated by him in New Zealand (Note.--Revises decision in M.O. 11.) Stay tape, being strips of union (linen and cotton) material cut on the straight and not exceeding 2 in. in width (Note.--Revises decision on page 99 of Tariff-book.) Vehicles, materials for manufacture of, viz.,— Door rollers of metal and wood for the manu- facture of motor-vehicle bodies Bacteriological products, sera, and vaccines, viz.:— Anti-diphtheric, anti-gas-gangrene, and anti- tetanic sera (Parke, Davis, and Co.'s) Educational apparatus, appliances, articles, and materials, viz.:— The following are admitted as educational appa- ratus, &c., on declaration that they have been specially imported and will be used solely for educational purposes in a school, college, or university, and that they will not be removed therefrom without payment of the duty— Clocks, wall pattern | As a. and m.s.
