the following names of Officiating Ministers within the
meaning of the said Act are published for general informa-

Native Land Court sitting at Auckland on the 16th July,
1930, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will

No. 31. Applicant: The Hobson County Council. Name
of land: Opanake 1B 1 and 1B 2 (parts). Nature of applica-
tion: Assessment of compensation for land taken for a road.
Election of Member of Westland Land Board.

I, THOMAS CAGNEY, Returning Officer for the election
of a member of the Westland Land Board, do hereby
notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the
Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that
the only person nominated to fill the vacancy occurring on
the said Board was
John Ryall, Esquire, of Barrytown,
and I do therefore hereby declare that the said John Ryall
is duly elected a member of the Westland Land Board as
from the 28th July, 1930.

THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been
received from the Admiralty, London, are published
for general information.

ADMIRALTY NOTICE No. 592, OF 1930.
AUSTRALIA—QUEENSLAND.
Cape Moreton: Intended Alteration in Light.
Date of Alteration: On or about 19th June, 1930; without
further notice.
Position: On the summit of Cape Moreton. Lat. 27° 02′
S., long. 153° 28′ E. (approx.).
Abridged Description: Gp. Fl. (4) ev. 20 sec., 400 ft., 27 M.
Alteration: The character of the light will be altered from
flashing white to group-flashing white every twenty seconds,
thus: Flash 0·2 sec., eclipse 3·0 sec., flash 0·2 sec., eclipse
3·0 sec., flash 0·2 sec., eclipse 3·0 sec., flash 0·2 sec., eclipse
10·2 sec.
Power: The power will be increased to 200,000 candles.
NOTE.—The other characteristics of the light will remain
unchanged.
Remarks: During alterations, from about 22nd May, 1930,
to about 19th June, 1930, the permanent light will be
extinguished and a temporary light of low power, visible
fifteen miles, will be exhibited from a wooden framework
structure 30 ft. (9m1) in height, situated about 150 ft. north-
ward of the lighthouse. The character of the temporary
light will be group-flashing white, having four flashes every
twelve seconds.
ADMIRALTY NOTICE No. 609 OF 1930.
AUSTRALIA—VICTORIA.
Seal or Direction Islands: Obstruction reported
south-eastward of.
Position: At a distance of 9·5 miles 105° from Clifty
Island light. Lat. 38° 59′ S., long. 146° 54′ E. (approx.).
Details: The above position is to be encircled by a danger
line and marked “Obstⁿ. repᵈ. (1930)” on the charts.
Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant
Registrar dissolving a Society.
I, HAROLD BEANLAND WALTON, Assistant Registrar
of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as
it has been made to appear to me that the Cambridge Young
Men’s Christian Association (Incorporated) is no longer
carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby
dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated
Societies Act, 1908.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Settlement Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on
Renewable Lease.
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 10th June, 1930.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands
are open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925,
and amendments, and applications will be received at the
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to
4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 28th July, 1930.
Applicants should appear personally before the Land Board
for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey
Office on Tuesday, 29th July, 1930, at 10 o’clock a.m., but
if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by
any other Land Board, or by any Commissioner of Crown
Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants.
Preference at the ballot will be given to landless applicants
who have one or more children dependent on them; to land-
less applicants who within two years immediately preceding
date of ballot have applied for land at least twice unsuccess-
fully; to applicants who have served beyond New Zealand
as members of the Expeditionary Force; to persons engaged
on military service beyond New Zealand in connection with
the late war, if such persons immediately prior to the war
were bona fide residents of New Zealand; to applicants who
while domiciled in New Zealand have served beyond New
Zealand as members of any of His Majesty’s Forces in con-
nection with any war other than the war with Germany;
and to landless applicants in respect of whom the Board,
after taking into consideration the experience and skill of
the applicants in farming operations, the proximity of their
homes to the lands the subject-matter of the ballot, and any
other relevant considerations, is of opinion that they should
be entitled to preference equally with applicants of any of
the hereinbefore specified classes.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Taupo County.—Reporoa Settlement.
SECTION 49: Area, 137 acres 2 roods 39 perches. Capital
value, £410. Half-yearly rent, £10 5s.
Weighted with £940, for improvements comprising dwelling,
200 chains fencing, 75 acres pasture, cow-shed, whare, pataka,
bridge, and water-supply. This sum is payable over a period
of twenty-one years by forty-two half-yearly instalments of
£36 13s. 3d.
Reporoa Settlement is situated on the Rotorua-Taupo Road,
about twenty-five miles distant from Rotorua. Adjoining the
settlement is a school and post and telephone office. The
district has a daily mail and coach service from Rotorua during
the summer months, and thrice weekly during the winter.
Cream lorries collecting for the Rotorua and Ngongotaha
Dairy Factories pass through the settlement daily during the
dairying season. Undulating to level section, watered by
stream. Soil of poor pumiceous quality.
