P URSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and one of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that John Dalziel Hay, being a person holding the office of Chief Clerk, District Office, Lands and Survey Department, Invercargill, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

As witness my hand this 24th day of April, 1930.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Hauraki Plains County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

COUNTY OF HAURAKI PLAINS.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Mangatarata Roads Loan Special-rating District was taken on the 24th day of March, 1930, on the proposal to raise a loan of £3,000 for formation and metalling of roads in the said special district.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 18; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Otane Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

OTANE TOWN BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Otane Town District was taken on the 16th day of April, 1930, on the proposal to borrow the sum of four thousand pounds (£4,000) for the purpose of providing a water-supply for the Town Board District.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 55 (fifty-five); and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 49 (forty-nine). There were no informal votes.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Horowhenua County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Te Horo Riding of the County of Horowhenua, held on Thursday, the 10th day of April, 1930, on the proposal of the Horowhenua County Council to borrow the sum of £1,300 for the purpose of constructing a traffic-bridge in the Otaki Gorge to be known as "The Waihoanga Bridge," the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 162: the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 27; the number of informal votes was 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

FIRST: All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 155 acres 0 roods 20 perches, more or less, being Sections 11, part 10, part 12, part 13, and part 2 of 14, Block I, Pomahaka Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of Section 11, thence by a public road, 90° 3', 2552·8 links; by Sections 1, 2, and 38, 143° 25', 3752·7 links; by a public road, 233° 44', 2127·7 links; and again by a public road, 329° 52' 15", 91·6 links; 294° 55', 630 links; 303° 30', 352·4 links; 305° 54', 391·4 links; 307° 40', 372·8 links; 285° 50', 193·1 links; 286° 3', 280·3 links; 305° 53', 284·5 links; 313° 55', 506·2 links; 328° 31', 865·5 links; 336° 12', 867·7 links; 343° 42', 686·9 links; 353° 30' 30", 1216·8 links, to the point of commencement.

Second: All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 918 acres 2 roods 20 poles, more or less, being Sections 18, 33, 1 of 34, 1157R, part 6, part 7, part 8, part 16, part 17, part 19, part 20, part 21, part 22, part 23, part 24, part 25, part 30, part 31, part 32, part 2 of 34, part 598R, and part closed road, certificate of title, Vol. 82, folio 127, Block I, Pomahaka Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the east corner of Lot A of land transfer plan 2411; thence across a public road, 56° 44', 107·9 links, and by said road 304° 43', 665·9 links; by a public road 50° 45', 7334·1 links; 149° 52' 15", 1009·4 links; 149° 54', 7666·6 links; 196° 15' 30
