MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I, THOMAS MALCOLM SMITH, M.B., Ch.B., Otago, 1929, now residing in Palmerston North, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 21st May next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance of and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Waikato County Maramarua Special-rating District No. 2 Loan of £3,300, authorized to be raised by the Waikato County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reforming and metalling the Maramarua–Miranda Road, Pokeno–Miranda Road, Kopuku No. 2 Road, Goodwin’s Road, Bell’s Road, Dymock’s Road, McWatt’s Road, Kopuku Bridge Road, within the Maramarua Special-rating District No. 2, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-sixteenths of a penny in the pound, on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Maramarua Special-rating District No. 2, being more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the County of Waikato, bounded commencing at the north-western corner of Allotment No. 71 of the Parish of Koheroa, towards the east by Allotments Nos. 71, 70, 69, 68, 67, and 66 of the Parish of Koheroa to the south-western corner of the said Allotment No. 66; thence towards the north by the said Allotment No. 66 to the eastern boundary of Allotment No. 74; thence towards the east by the road forming the western boundary of Allotment No. 74 of the Parish of Koheroa; thence by the said road to the eastern boundary of the State Forest Reserve defined in the New Zealand Gazette, 1920, page 2116; thence by the eastern boundary of the said Forest Reserve to the south-eastern corner of the said Forest Reserve; thence towards the north by the boundary of the Maramarua Parish to the Confiscation Line; thence towards the east by the Confiscation Line to the south-eastern corner of Allotment No. 70A of the Parish of Maramarua; thence towards the south by the southern boundary of the said Allotment No. 70A to the south-western corner of the said Allotment No. 70A; thence by a straight line to the northernmost corner of Lot 8 of Blocks V and VI, Piako Survey District; thence by a straight line to the northernmost corner of Lot 19, Maramarua Parish; thence by the north-western boundary of the said Lot 19 to the northernmost corner of Lot 2, Block V, Piako Survey District; thence by a straight line to the southernmost corner of Allotment No. 4 of the Parish of Maramarua; thence towards the west by the western boundary of the said Allotment No. 4 to the north-western corner of the said Allotment No. 4; thence towards the south by a straight line to the easternmost corner of Allotment No. 41, Maramarua Parish; thence by the northern boundary of the said Allotment No. 41 to the Maramarua River; thence towards the north and west by the northern boundary of the County of Waikato to the commencing-point.

OHURA COUNTY COUNCIL.

INCREASING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) it hereunto enabling, the Ohura County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £11,000, authorized to be raised by the Ohura County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reforming, culverting, and metalling roads in the Harvey–Tokirima Special-rating District, the said Council, pursuant to section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, hereby increases to six pence (6d.) in the pound sterling the special rate of three pence half-penny (3½d.) in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said council on the 21st day of September, 1921, and published on page 2545 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1921, on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Harvey-Tokirima Special-rating District in the County of Ohura, such rate of three pence half-penny in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan, and that such special rate (as increased) shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 14th day of February and the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BOROUGH OF ROTORUA.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Rotorua Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,700, authorized to be raised by the Rotorua Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of bitumenizing portions of Ranolf, Amohia, Eruera, Hinemoa, Pukuatua, Haupapa, Arawa, Taiwhakea, and Tryon Streets and Malfroy Road, and laying in permanent material certain footpaths, the said Rotorua Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal point two eight seven pence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Rotorua, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Piako County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £145, authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the works for which a loan of £1,450 was authorized by poll on the 5th day of March, 1926, by spreading 8 cubic yards of metal per chain on that portion approximately 60 chains of the Ngatea–Waharoa via Morrinsville Main Highway, which portion was only partially metalled under the original authority, the said Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the Tahuna–Morrinsville Road (Irwin’s Hill to Horrell’s Bridge) Special-rating Area of the Piako County, comprising all that area in the Land District of Auckland bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the southern boundary of Section 18, Motumaho No. 2 in Block II, Maungakawa Survey District, 20 chains from the main road; thence north-west on lines parallel with the road through Sections 18 and 17, Motumaho No. 2, to the southern boundary of Te Mimi; thence along such boundary to the south-eastern corner of Te Mimi, and along the eastern boundary of Te Mimi to the north-east corner, and along the northern boundary of Te Mimi to the north-western corner; thence southerly following the western boundary of Te Mimi to a point midway in L.T. 1800A; thence easterly through the centre of L.T. 1800A to a line parallel with the road 30 chains therefrom, and southerly along such parallel line to the northern boundary of Section 3, Motumaho No. 2, and easterly along such boundary to 15 chains from the road; thence on lines parallel with the road to the southern boundary of Section 4, and along same and the southern boundary of Section 18 to the point of commencement; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
