HOKIANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE HOKIANGA COUNTY COUNCIL AT A MEETING OF SUCH COUNCIL HELD ON THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, 1930.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Hokianga County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Hokianga County Kohukohu Riding (Town Area and Outlying Area) Supplementary Loan of £750, 1930, authorized to be raised by the Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of road-construction—forming and reforming, metalling, and culverting roads—in the Kohukohu Riding of the said county, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of a penny (¾d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Kohukohu Riding (Town Area and Outlying Area) of the said county, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Hokianga County Council at the above-mentioned meeting.

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH PROPERTY AMENDMENT ACT, 1930.
In the matter of a Private Bill intended to be brought into the General Assembly of New Zealand to be intituled the Presbyterian Church Property Amendment Act, 1930.
NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relating to Private Bills, that application will be made to the General Assembly in Parliament assembled at its next session on behalf of the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees for leave to introduce a Bill to be called the “Presbyterian Church Property Amendment Act, 1930.”

The object of the Bill is to amend the Presbyterian Church Property Act, 1885, as amended by the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 Amendment Act, 1914, by providing that the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand may, either generally or in any particular case or in particular cases, by resolution delegate to any Presbytery or to a special commission appointed in accordance with the usages of the Church, its power to consent to the exercise by the trustees of any of the powers conferred on them by section 5 of the Presbyterian Church Property Act 1885 Amendment Act, 1914, and that any such delegation by the General Assembly may be absolute or subject to such conditions as the General Assembly may by resolution impose, and may be at any time varied or revoked by resolution of the General Assembly.

Printed copies of the said proposed Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office on the 1st day of June, 1930.

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school the following land, namely :—
All that piece of land, containing one (1) acre two (2) roods twenty-six decimal six (26·6) perches, more or less, being part of Motukaraka West A Number four (4) Block, situated in Mangamuku Survey District. A plan of the said land is deposited at the post-office at Kohukohu, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Wellesley Street, Auckland.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME.
I, CHARLES WILLIAMS, hereinbefore called by the name of CHARLES KRONENBERGER, of Christchurch, hereby give public notice that on the 11th day of April, 1930, I formally assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the names of “Charles Williams” instead of the said names of “Charles Kronenberger”: And I further give notice that by a deed poll dated the 11th day of April, 1930, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Christchurch, I formally declared that I had assumed and adopted, and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the names of “Charles Williams” instead of “Charles Kronenberger,” and so as to be at all times hereafter called, known, and described by the names of “Charles Williams” exclusively.

PRIVATE BILL.
In the matter of a Private Estate Bill intended to be brought into the General Assembly of New Zealand the Short Title of which is the Kirkpatrick Masonic Institute Empowering Act, 1930.
PURSUANT to the Standing Rules and Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relating to Private Bills notice is hereby given that, not earlier than thirty days before and not later than fourteen days after the commencement of the session of the General Assembly of New Zealand to be held next after the date of this notice, Jesse Steer, George Malcolm Simpson, Charles Milner, George Manson, Herbert Hereward Edwards, Frederick Joseph Williams, and Charles Melville Collins, being the members of the Board of Governors of the Kirkpatrick Masonic Institute for orphan girls at Nelson appointed under the provisions of the will of Samuel Kirkpatrick, late of the City of Nelson, Manufacturer (deceased), will present a petition to the said General Assembly praying and applying for leave to bring in a Private Estate Bill to be called “The Kirkpatrick Masonic Institute Empowering Act, 1930.”
The objects of the proposed Bill are—
(1) To authorize the enlargement of the Kirkpatrick Masonic Institute for orphan girls at Nelson to enable it to accommodate and maintain more inmates.
(2) To authorize the Public Trustee to expend moneys from the estate of the said Samuel Kirkpatrick for the above purpose.
(3) To empower the Board of Governors of the said institute to accept donations and contributions from any source, and to apply and use the same for the purposes of the said institute.
(4) To provide for such donations and contributions to be vested in the Public Trustee to be held, together with the residuary estate of the said Samuel Kirkpatrick, for the purposes of the said institute.
(5) To empower the said Board and the Public Trustee to purchase, take on lease, or in exchange, or hire, or otherwise acquire real or personal property in connection with the said institute, or to grant a lease or sub-lease of any such property, or to rescind or vary any contract of sale or exchange in respect of the same.
(6) To authorize the said Board to distribute among the inmates of the said institute such annual sums of money by way of athletic prizes, pocket-money, and scholastic prizes as the said Board thinks fit in lieu of the sums provided by the will of the said Samuel Kirkpatrick for these purposes.
(7) To provide for the removal of the restrictions as to residence and domicile imposed by the said will in respect of the representative on the said Board of the District Grand Lodge of Westland and Nelson, English Constitution.
