CONDITIONS.
-
LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native
game within the said district will be issued to any person
on payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each; and
the Secretary of the Marlborough Acclimatization Society,
or any person authorized by such Secretary in that behalf,
is hereby authorized to sign and issue the said licenses. -
The number of such imported game and native game
that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day
shall not exceed twenty-five head in all of Californian quail,
grey duck, spoonbill duck, and black swan: Provided that
not more than fifteen head of grey duck may be taken or
killed by any one person in any one day. -
Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game and
native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or
kill imported game or native game on lands actually and
exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society
for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public
domain, or any land mentioned in the Second Schedule hereto. -
No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game
or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such
imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-
loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of
carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pea-rifle,
swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun
other than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be used for
the purpose aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the
size known as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun be
used which exceeds 10 lb. in weight. -
Shooting may begin not earlier than one hour before
sunrise and must cease not later than one hour after
sunset. -
No live birds of any species shall be used as decoys, nor
shall more than twenty-five artificial decoys be used at any
one time (whether by one or several persons) on any par-
ticular water within an area of less than 100 yards square. -
No person shall use any aeroplane, power-boat, or launch
in connection with the taking or killing of imported and
native game. -
Any person committing a breach of any of these con-
ditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Marlborough, Nelson, and Canterbury
Land Districts bounded by a line commencing at Mount
Humboldt and proceeding thence along the summits of the
Spenser and Arnaud Ranges to Trig. Station Top 2 (Manga-
tawai); thence along a right line to Wards Pass; along the
summit of the range through Bush Cone, Mount Rintoul,
and Red Hills to the source of the Pelorus River; down that
river and up the Heringa Stream to its source (Saddle Hill);
along the summit of the range over Mount Duppa, Editor
Peak, and Mount McLaren to Trig. Station Y (Boundary
Trig.); along a right line to the cape forming the southern
point of Elaine Bay; along the southern shore of that bay to
the most westerly point at its head, and along a right line
due west to Croisilles Harbour; thence northerly, easterly,
and southerly generally along the sea-coast to the mouth of
the Conway River, up that river to its source at Palmer
Saddle; thence by a right line to Barefell Pass; thence by
a right line to Mount Humboldt, the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Areas, in addition to those referred to in condition No. 3,
excepted from the open season wherein imported game and
native game shall not be taken or killed :-
Big Lagoon at Vernon.
Marlborough Electric-power Board's Dam at Waihopai.

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License
Fees, &c., Nelson Acclimatization District.
I N exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Philip Aldborough
de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the lst
day of May to the 31st day of July, 1930 (both days inclusive),
to be an open season in the Nelson Acclimatization District,
as described in the First Schedule hereto, except in the areas
referred to in condition No. 3 and in the Second Schedule
hereto, for the taking or killing of the following imported
and native game--viz., Californian quail and grey duck;
and the period from the 1st day of January to the 31st day
of March, 1931 (both days inclusive), to be an open season
in the said district for the taking or killing of the following
native game--viz., godwits--subject to the following con-
ditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native
game (including godwits) within the said district will be
issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty shil-
ings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill such native game
only (viz., godwits) will be issued to any person on pay-
ment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the Chief
Postmaster at Nelson, and the Postmasters at Motueka,
Kohatu, Wakefield, Murchison, and Reefton, are hereby
authorized to sign and issue the said licenses. -
The number of such imported game and native game
that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one day
shall not exceed twenty-five head of Californian quail and
five head of grey duck. -
Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game
and native game (including godwits), or native game only
(viz., godwits), shall authorize the holder thereof to take
or kill imported game and native game (including godwits),
or native game only (viz., godwits), on lands actually and
exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society
for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public

in the County of Murchison, in which County protection has
been removed from Californian quail. -

FIRST SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards
the north-west and north-east generally by Tasman Sea,
Golden Bay, and Tasman Bay, from Kohaihai Bluff, in Block
XIII, Whakapoaï Survey District, to a point on shore of
Croisilles Harbour due west of the westernmost point of
Elaine Bay; thence towards the north by a right line running
due east to said westernmost point of that bay and by
southern shore of that bay to its south head; thence towards
the south-east generally by a right line to Trig. Station Y
(boundary trig.) and by a line along the summit of the range
over Mount McLaren, Editor Peak, Mount Duppa, and Saddle
Hill to the source of the Heringa Stream; thence by a line
down the middle of that stream to its confluence with the
Pelorus River; thence by a line up the middle of the Pelorus
River to its source near Red Hills ; thence by a right line to
the summit; thence by a line along the summit of the range
over Red Hills, Mount Rintoul, and Bush Cone to the summit
of Wards Pass; thence by a right line to Trig. Station Top 2
(Mangatawai); thence by a line along the summit of St.
Arnaud Range and the summit of the Spenser Mountains;
thence towards the south-west by a line along the summit of
the southern watershed of the Maruia River to Mount Haast;
thence by a line due north to the right bank of the Inangahua
River and along that bank to and up the left bank of the
Buller River to the mouth of the Eight-mile or Boundary
Creek; thence by a line up a leading spur on the western
side of said Boundary Creek to Bald Hill and by a line along
the summit of Lyell Range, and along the summit of a range
over Mount Luna to Mount Arthur ; thence towards the south-
west by a line along the summit of the Western Ranges over
Mount Peel and Mount Snowdon to Mount Cobb; thence
towards the south-east by a line along the summit of range
over Mount Domett and down a leading spur to the Tasman
Sea at Kohaihai Bluff, the place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Area, in addition to those referred to in condition No. 3,
excepted from the open season wherein imported game and
native game shall not be taken or killed :-
Lake Rotoiti.
