The total live births registered for the urban areas amounted to 1,080 as against 1,031 in October, an increase of 49. The deaths in November were 536—a decrease of 107 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 296, females 240. Fifty-six of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 10·45 per cent. of the whole number. Forty-two of these were under one year of age.

The equivalent annual rates per 1,000 of mean population for November, 1929, and eleven months ended November, 1929, were as follows. The infant-mortality and still-birth rates per 100 births for the same period are also given.
