Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 4th December, 1929.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction, for cash or on deferred payments, at the Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, 8th January, 1930, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—OXFORD COUNTY.—OXFORD SURVEY DISTRICT.
PART Reserve 2331, Block XI, Oxford Survey District: Area, 30 acres 1 rood 22 perches. Upset price, £185. Situated about three miles and a half from West Oxford Railway-station, by good road. All flat, light, stony land, suitable for cultivation of sheep feed. The fencing is the property of the former licensee, and does not go with the land.
Terms of Sale.
The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred payments extending over a period of 34½ years. The terms are—
(1) Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter.
(2) Deferred Payments.—10 per cent. of the purchase-money and licensee fee (£1 1s.) on the fall of the hammer; balance by equal half-yearly instalments of principal and interest, extending over 34½ years, but with the right to pay off at any time the whole or any part of the outstanding amount. In either case, if the purchaser fails to make any of the prescribed payments by due date, whether of purchase-money or interest, the amount (if any) already paid shall be forfeited and the contract for the sale of the land be null and void. Title will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.

Reserve in Wellington Land District for Lease by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 12 o’clock noon, on Monday, the 13th January, 1930, for the grazing of the undermentioned land under the provisions of section 14 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
Pohangina County.—Town of Apiti.
SECTIONS 81 and 84: Area, 2 roods. Term of lease: Seven years. Minimum annual rental, £1 5s.
Situated in Apiti Township, having a frontage to Balance Street, within easy distance from post-office and business places. The sections comprise flat grassed land, and the soil is of good quality on shingle formation.
ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.
- Possession will be given on the day of acceptance of the tender.
- The rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance, free from all deductions whatsoever.
- The lease is for grazing purposes only, and residence and improvements are not compulsory; no compensation shall be claimed by the lessee, nor shall any be allowed by the Government, on account of any improvements effected by the lessee, nor for any other cause.
- The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the whole or any portion of the land comprised in the lease, except with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Wellington, first had and obtained.
- The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Wellington, may at any time resume possession of the land comprised in the lease, or any portion thereof, by giving to the lessee twelve months’ notice in writing of his intention so to do.
- The right is reserved to the Crown to grant such right-of-way or rights-of-way as may be necessary during the currency of the lease.
- The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, and sweetbriar on the land comprised in the lease; and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove or cause to be removed all gorse, sweetbriar, broom, Californian thistle, or other noxious weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
- The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within one month after the date on which the same ought to have been fulfilled.
Tenders must be accompanied by marked cheque or post-office order for six months’ rent at the rate offered, and lease fee of £1 1s., and must be marked on the envelope “Tender for Lease.”
The lands are described for the general information of intending tenderers, who are recommended, nevertheless, to make a personal inspection as the Department is not responsible for the absolute accuracy of any description.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale for cash by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Insurance Buildings, Wellington, on Wednesday, the 15th January, 1929, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Pahiatua County.—Town of Scarborough.
SECTION 11, Block XIII: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £15. The section is situated with frontages to Victoria and MacDonald Streets about 40 chains from Pahiatua Railway-station.
TERMS OF SALE.
One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, together with £1 (Crown-grant fee), within thirty days thereafter, otherwise the part of the purchase-money paid by way of deposit shall be forfeited, and the sale of the land declared null and void.
Title will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.

NOTICE is hereby given that a lease for a term of twenty-one years of the undermentioned reserve will be submitted for sale by public auction at this office on Wednesday, the 8th January, 1930, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
QUARANTINE ISLAND, opposite Port Chalmers: Area, 37 acres. Minimum rental, £40 per annum. The buildings on the island, valued at £3,000, must be paid for in cash by the successful bidder for the lease. Good grazing land; all necessary buildings; good boat service several times a day, if needed.
Possession will be given on date of sale.
Abstract of Conditions of Lease.
(1) Term of lease: twenty-one years from 1st July, 1930.
(2) Lease to be under Part I of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.
(3) No further buildings to be erected on the land without the prior consent in writing of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin.
