, of , having this day paid the sum of £1 1s., is hereby authorized to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds within the Waimarino Acclimatization District, from the 26th day of March, 1930, to the 31st day of May, 1930 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, and all regulations and notifications affecting red-deer stags and hinds made thereunder and in force within the said district.
This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

Levin Borough Council's Abattoir made available for the Purposes of the Wirokino Riding of the Horowhenua County.—(Notice No. 2870.)
IN pursuance of section 15, paragraph (f), of the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the abattoir authorized to be established by the Levin Borough Council for the district comprising the Borough of Levin has, by agreement between the said Borough Council and the Horowhenua County Council, been made available for the purposes of the Wirokino Riding of the Horowhenua County, and that the Levin Borough Council is the controlling authority of the said abattoir.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and its Amendments, fixing the Closing-hours of Grocers’ Shops within the Borough of Tauranga.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of grocers’ shops within the Borough of Tauranga, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22 :
And whereas I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I do hereby direct that on and after the 23rd day of December, 1929, all the said shops within the said borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 5.30 p.m., and on Saturdays at 8 p.m., with the following exceptions—(1) In the evening of the working-day immediately preceding any of the following days—viz., Anniversary Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, the birthday of the reigning sovereign, and Labour Day, or in the evening of the working day immediately preceding any special day which is generally observed as a public holiday pursuant to a Proclamation by the Governor-General, or by Act of Parliament, or declaration by the Government, or on the request of the Mayor of Tauranga, the closing-hour shall be 9 p.m. ; (2) in the evening of the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and in the evening of the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day the closing-hour shall be 10 p.m. ; (3) should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe, pursuant to section 14 (2) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Wednesday shall be 5.30 p.m. and the closing-hour on Friday shall be 8 p.m.
The notice dated the 26th March, 1913, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 27th March, 1913, fixing the closing-hours of (1) drapers and mercers’, (2) grocers’, (3) boot and shoe merchants’ (4) tailors’, (5) butchers’, (6) bakers’, (7) watchmakers’, (8) furnishers’, and (9) engineers’ and plumbers’ shops within the Borough of Tauranga shall be, and is hereby, cancelled in so far as it relates to the shops affected by this notice as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.
