CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Onaero Mataro Loan (1929), £400.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 17 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Counties Act, 1920, and the amendments thereof, and any other Acts it enabling, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Onaero Mataro Loan (1929) Special-rating Area, as testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers of the said special-rating area, the capital value of whose properties as appearing on the valuation-roll of the said district is collectively greater than the capital value of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Clifton County Council hereby resolves that, for the purposes of providing interest and other charges on a loan of four hundred pounds (£400), authorized to be raised by the said Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the re-formation and metalling of portions of the Mataro Road and the purposes incidental thereto, and also the cost of raising the said loan, the said council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-sixteenths (3/16ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable property of the said Onaero Mataro Loan (1929) Special-rating Area, comprising Sections 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44A, 44B, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, and part Sections 2, 3, 4, 20, 21, of Block VII, Waitara Survey District; Sections 2–35, 44, 45, and 54 of Block XI, Waitara Survey District; and Sections 9 and 10 of Block XII, Waitara Survey District; • and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February and August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was duly passed in accordance with the Counties Act, 1920, and its amendments, at a meeting of the Clifton County Council held on Friday, the 1st day of November, 1929.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of THE PACIFIC PRESERVING COMPANY, LIMITED.
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened and held at Dunedin on the twentieth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, the following extraordinary resolution as duly passed:—
“ That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that SAMUEL PHILLIP MIRAMS, of Dunedin, Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

MATAKAOA COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given by the Matakaoa County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a public road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council, situate in Te Araroa, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the 6th day of November, 1929, being the date of the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of land required to be taken: 19 acres 2 roods 21 perches.
Being portion of the Whangaparaoa 2L Block, situate in Block IX, Matakaoa West Survey District, in the Gisborne Registration District, Matakaoa County; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 1331 (brown), deposited in the Survey Office, at Gisborne.
