Ashburton County.—Hinds Township.

Sections 3 and 4 in Block III have frontages to Rhodes Street and Section 13 to Reed Street. All level sections covered with dense gorse and broom. Sections 1 to 8, Block VII, front Reed Street, and are more or less bad with gorse and broom. Sections 11 to 17 front Rogers Street. They comprise light land in old grass, with gorse in patches. Good building-sites. Sections 1 to 3, Block VIII, fronting Reed Street are at present in green feed. Section 18, fronting Rogers Street, is a good building-site with a race running through part; in old pasture. Sections 1, 2, and 10, Block XVII, have frontages to Peters Street, and are good building-sites, in old grass; Sections 12 to 17 are similar, with frontages to Gray Street. Sections 1 to 7, Block XXI, have frontages to Gray Street and 11 to 18 to Nugent Street. All are in old grass, with gorse spreading. Light stony land, suitable for building-sites.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section 132 of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday, the sixteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash; and I hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

The sections are situated at Lake Rotoiti and, with the exception of Sections 9 to 15, all have a commanding view of the lake. All sections are good building-sites. This lake is a well known holiday resort, and is rapidly becoming popular for holiday-makers, campers, and sportsmen. The main highway from Blenheim to West Coast passes the township, and access is therefore by good metalled motor-road. Top-house Post-office is five miles distant. Sections 9 to 15 have frontage to main highway, while balance of sections will be roaded at an early date.
