At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 11th day of May, 1929.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section
seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks
Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby cancel the reservation for the preservation of
forest for scenery and climatic purposes over the land described
in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said
land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for
disposal under the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing by
admeasurement 5 acres 0 roods 17 perches, more or less,
being Reserve No. 3236, situated in Block VII, Akaroa Survey
district, and bounded as follows: Towards the south-east
generally by Rural Sections Nos. 34436, 33482, and 13195,
184·2 and 454·1 links; towards the south by Rural Section
No. 35825, 455 links; and again towards the north-west
and north generally by a public road, 31·2, 480·5, 225·4,
593·4, 502·3, 225·2, 355·5, and 256·1 links: As the same is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S.
4/433B, deposited in Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

WHEREAS by the thirty-fifth section of the Public Works Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for any public work is not required for such public work the Governor-General may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the condition set forth in the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.
