Gazette on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at page 768, and subsequently amended by notification in the New Zealand Gazette on the twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at page 1134:
And whereas the governing body of the said school having been notified, pursuant to section ninety-two of the said Act to modify the said scheme, has proposed to modify the same as on and from the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, by revocation thereof and by substitution therefor of the scheme set out in the Schedule hereto, and has accordingly duly submitted to the Minister the scheme set out in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, I, Harry Atmore, Minister of Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said section ninety-two, do hereby approve the modification as and from the said thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, of the scheme heretofore in force as aforesaid, such modification to be effected by the revocation of the scheme heretofore in force and the substitution therefor of the scheme set out on the Schedule hereto, and accordingly hereby approve the said scheme set out in the Schedule hereto as the scheme of control of the Rotorua High School, and of any other secondary school subsequently established and under the control of the Rotorua High School Board.
SCHEDULE.

THE provisions of the document entitled “Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools,” published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 6th day of December, 1928, at page 3451 (hereinafter called “The Standard Scheme”), shall be incorporated herein as fully as if set forth at length hereunder, but with the modifications and additions hereinafter contained.

The governing body of the school shall be known by the name of “The Rotorua High School Board.”

References in the Standard Scheme to the Borough Council shall be interpreted as references to the Borough Council of the Borough of Rotorua.

Clause 43 of the Standard Scheme shall be read with the omission of the words “The Secretary shall be insured under a fidelity bond for a sum of not less than five hundred pounds.”

Notice to make Returns of Income under the Land and Income Tax Act, 1923.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the above Act and the regulations made thereunder, every person and company, whether a taxpayer or not, having derived income within the meaning of the said Act during the year ending 31st March, 1929, from any source or by any means which is made the subject of taxation under the said Act, is hereby required to make and furnish to me, in the prescribed form, returns of such income on or before the 1st day of June, 1929.
Returns of income are required to be furnished by all companies and persons in business, whether for the whole or part of the income year. They are also required from all persons in receipt of income from salary, wages, interest, rents, annuity, or other annual payment, where such income exceeds £250 per annum. The returns are required annually from such persons notwithstanding that by reason of the special exemptions allowable by law they may not be liable to pay tax.
In cases where the Commissioner has agreed to accept returns for twelve months ending at a date subsequent to the 31st March, such returns shall be made within two months of such subsequent date.
Further, notice is hereby given that all persons who received dividends from companies during the above year are required to make a return of such dividends in the space provided on page 1 of the prescribed form referred to in the foregoing.
And, further, notice is hereby given that such returns shall in all cases be delivered at or forwarded to the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, in the Government Buildings at Wellington.

NOTE.—Forms of return may be obtained at any post-office; they will not be sent to taxpayers from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes unless written application is made for them.
SPECIAL NOTE.—Any person failing to furnish a return at the prescribed time is liable to a penalty up to £100.

Applying the Provisions of Section 136 of the Public Works Act, 1928, to the Hurunui River Bridge on the Waipara-Kaikoura (via Culverden) Main Highway.
WHEREAS the Main Highways Board has, in pursuance of section 7 of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1925, recommended that the provisions of section 136 of the Public Works Act, 1928, be applied to the Hurunui River Bridge on the Waipara–Kaikoura (via Culverden) Main Highway.
Now, therefore, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Minister of Public Works, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1925, and of every other power in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the provisions of section 136 of the Public Works Act, 1928, shall apply with respect to the apportionment of the cost of maintenance or repair of the Hurunui River Bridge on the Waipara–Kaikoura (via Culverden) Main Highway.
