Opening Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection
on Renewable Lease, subject to Section 20 of the Discharged
Soldiers Settlement Amendment Act, 1923.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General
Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection
on renewable lease, subject to the provisions of section twenty
of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Amendment Act, 1923,
on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-nine, at the rental mentioned in the said
Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be
leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act,
1924.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Whangarei County.—Waipu Parish.

SECTIONS 395, 396, and 398: Area, 281 acres 1 rood 30 perches.
Capital value, £400. Deposit on deferred payments, £20;
half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £12 7s.
Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £10.

Situated about six miles from Waipu, one mile and a half
from North River School, and seven miles from Taipuha
Railway-station. Access road is unformed. Soil is clay
on sandstone formation. Rough country generally. About
40 acres has been felled and grassed, but now reverted to
second growth. A small area was burnt and surface sown.
Included in the capital value is the value of half-share in
50 chains of boundary fencing, in good order.

Altering Constitution of the Transport Appeal Board for No. 2
Motor-omnibus District.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me
by section sixteen of the Motor-omnibus Traffic Act,
1926, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson,
Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby revoke the appointment, made under my hand on
the twenty-second day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-eight, of Lachlan Bain Campbell, as
member of the Transport Appeal Board, No. 2 Motor-omnibus
District, and do hereby appoint Frederick Selwyn Dyson,
District Engineer, Public Works Department, Auckland, as
member of the said Board, being one representative of the
Government.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, this 2nd day of
May, 1929.

Appointing a Member of the Havelock Harbour Board.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection three of section
thirty-eight of the Harbours Act, 1923, that in the
event of an extraordinary vacancy in the office of a non-
elective member of a Harbour Board, the Governor-General
shall, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified
person in his place:

And whereas William George Twidle, a non-elective member
of the Havelock Harbour Board, has resigned his office, and
an extraordinary vacancy in the membership of the Board
has been created, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified
person in his place:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-
recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint David
Emery Higgins to be a member of the Havelock Harbour
Board in the place of the said William George Twidle, resigned.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 10th day of May, 1929.

appointed.
