Declaring a certain Area to be a Sanctuary under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22.—Lakes District Acclimatization District.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area, except pursuant to an authority granted under section thirty-one or section thirty-two of the said Act; nor shall any person except under such conditions as may from time to time be prescribed by the Minister, take any dog or firearm into such area, or discharge any firearm or explosive in such area, or do anything likely to cause any imported game or native game to leave such area.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, being Section 1, Block I, Milford Sound District, and being the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 82, folio 97, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Invercargill.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 7th day of May, 1929.

Land vested in the Waipu Public Coronation Hall and Library Association (Incorporated).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by subsection two of section eighty-one of the Local Legislation Act, 1927, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby vest the land described in the Schedule hereto in the Waipu Public Coronation Hall and Library Association (Incorporated) in trust as a site for a public hall and library.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement thirty-two perches, more or less, being part Allotment 21, Waipu Parish, and bounded as appears in a certain deed of conveyance dated the tenth day of October, eighteen hundred and eighty-one, and registered in the Deeds Register Office at Auckland under Number 72329.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 7th day of May, 1929.

Amending the Description of the Boundaries of Portion of a Primary-education Endowment in Masterton Small Farms Settlement, Wellington Land District, set apart as an Addition to a Site for a Public School.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the fifteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, part of Section 101, Masterton Small Farms Settlement, Wellington Land District, portion of a primary-education endowment, was set apart as an addition to a site for a public school, in terms of section five of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1911:

And whereas an error was made in the description of the boundaries of the said reserve in the Schedule to the said Warrant, and it is desirable that the error of description should be rectified:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby amend the Warrant dated the fifteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, hereinbefore referred to, by substituting the description of part of Section 101, Masterton Small Farms Settlement, set forth in the Schedule hereto, for the description of the said part section set forth in the Schedule to the Warrant of the fifteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Borough of Masterton situated in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 28·98 perches, more or less, being part Section 101, Masterton Small Farms Settlement, Block I, Otahoua Survey District; and being those portions of Lot 3, D.P. 1361, as delineated on plan numbered 13/28, deposited in the Wellington District Office, Department of Lands and Survey, and thereon bordered blue and purple.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 7th day of May, 1929.

Member appointed to the Pongaroa Scenic Board.

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the ninth day of that month, the control of a certain reserve in the Wellington Land District, known as the Pongaroa Scenic Reserve, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the Pongaroa Scenic Board, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908: And whereas it is desirable that Jóseph Henry Berry, Esquire, of Pongaroa, should be appointed a member of the said Board, in place of John McIntyre, Esquire, of Pongaroa, resigned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint the said Joseph Henry Berry to be a member of the Pongaroa Scenic Board constituted by the Warrant dated the seventh day of August, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said John McIntyre.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 7th day of May, 1929.

Opening Settlement Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and amendments, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Bay of Islands County.—Omapere Survey District.—Remuera Settlement.

SECTIONS 25s and 26s: Area, 307 acres 0 roods 35 perches. Capital value, £3,110. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £77 15s.

The buildings are valued at £640, and consist of four-roomed dwelling (wood and iron, with iron roof), four-bail cowbyre with concrete floor, separator-room, fowlhouse, incomplete dwelling (five rooms and bathroom, wood and iron
