Lieutenant H. B. Lusk, 1st C Battalion, is retired. Dated 19th December, 1928.

The Hauraki Regiment.
Lieutenant V. J. A. Cooke, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 2. Dated 21st April, 1929.

The Waikato Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant R. R. V. Challiner, 1st Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 20th November, 1928.

The Wellington Regiment.
Lieutenant W. V. R. Fletcher ceases to be posted to the 4th C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 19th April, 1929.
Jack Beaumont Hepworth to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is posted to the 5th C Battalion. Dated 27th April, 1929.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.
Lieutenant C. R. F. Tilley, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6. Dated 26th April, 1929.

The Canterbury Regiment.
Major G. S. Hardy, 6th C Battalion, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 18th April, 1929.
Lieutenant W. R. P. Jaques, 1st Battalion, relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 2nd April, 1929.

The Otago Regiment.
Captain G. P. Enwright, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 11. Dated 19th April, 1929.

The Southland Regiment.
Lieutenant F. M. Corkhill, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 22nd April, 1929.

N.Z. AIR FORCE.
David Oswald Young to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 17th April, 1929.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Captain F. D. Pinfold, M.B., to be Major. Dated 13th September, 1928.
Captain E. G. Anderson, M.B., ceases to be attached to the 19th Medium Battery, N.Z.A., and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 16th April, 1929.
Captain T. G. Gray, M.B., ceases to be attached to the Northern Depot, N.Z.M.C., and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 5th April, 1929.

N.Z. VETERINARY CORPS.
Charles Weighton to be Lieutenant. Dated 18th April, 1929.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend E. Nicholls, Chaplain, 4th Class, is transferred from R.D. 1 to R.D. 7. Dated 22nd April, 1929.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Selwyn County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

ROAD IMPROVEMENT LOAN, 1929 (£1,000).
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby notify you that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Selwyn County taken on the 4th day of April, 1929, the result of the poll on the above loan was as follows: For the proposal, 169; against the proposal, 93. The number of votes in excess of the statutory three-fifths required: 11 votes.
I hereby declare that the Selwyn County Road Improvement Loan, 1929 (£1,000), is carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Great Barrier Island County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

GREAT BARRIER ISLAND COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll: Tryphena Wharf Special Area Loan of £500.
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Tryphena Wharf Loan of £500 Special-rating Area, taken on the 8th day of March, 1929, on the proposal of the Great Barrier Island County Council to borrow the sum of £500 for the purpose of contributing towards the cost of erecting and constructing a wharf at Shoal Bay, Tryphena, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 19; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil informal votes, nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Timaru taken on the 1st day of May, 1929, on the proposal of the Timaru Borough Council to borrow the sum of six thousand five hundred pounds (£6,500) for the purpose of improvements, &c., to Caroline Bay, viz :—

(a) Additional men’s lavatories for Caroline Bay .. 800
(b) Viaduct leading from Ataahua Park to Caroline Bay .. .. .. .. 1,950
(c) Roadway to Caroline Bay from the said proposed viaduct at Ataahua Park .. .. 900
(d) Covering and extensions to stormwater drain on Caroline Bay .. .. .. .. 200
(e) Additions to Caroline Bay Hall for the purpose of additional tea-rooms and additional shelters 2,500

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,558; and the number of votes recorded against the proposal 1,112.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
