BOROUGH OF LYTTLETON.
SPECIAL ORDER RAISING LOAN OF £8,000 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING OFF THE DIAMOND HARBOUR SPECIAL LOAN OF £13,000, AND MAKING SPECIAL RATE TO PROVIDE INTEREST AND SINKING FUND FOR SUCH LOAN.
THAT in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and with the consent of His Excellency the Governor-General in Council pursuant to the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, the Lyttelton Borough Council do raise by way of special loan the sum of eight thousand pounds (£8,000) to be known as “The Diamond Harbour Repayment Loan, 1929,” for the purpose of paying off the balance of a special loan known as “The Diamond Harbour Loan of £13,000,” which loan matured on the 1st March, 1929.
That the term of the said special loan of £8,000 be for a period of twenty years, and that it bear interest at the rate of 5½ per cent. per annum, together with a sinking fund of 3 per cent. per annum.
And the said Borough Council doth hereby further resolve that for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund in respect of such special loan of £8,000, it doth hereby make and levy a special rate of fourpence halfpenny in the pound upon the annual rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Lyttelton, and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Thursday, the 20th day of June, 1929, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Registrar’s said office, is appointed for hearing and adjudicating upon the debts and claims.

I, JAMES KEITH SPENCER, of Arapuni, in the Provincial District of Auckland, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Farmer, named and registered in the Register of Births as JAMES KEITH ENNIS, hereby give public notice that on the 19th day of April, 1929, by deed poll then duly executed by me, and on the 26th day of April, 1929, enrolled with the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Hamilton as Number G.R. 1225, I formally and absolutely renounced the use of my said surname of “Ennis,” and in lieu thereof assumed and adopted the surname of “Spencer.”

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers therein enabling it, the Auckland City Council doth hereby resolve as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the loan of £71,000, being 10 per cent. of loan of £710,000, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council in 1924 under the above-mentioned Act for the formation and improvement of various streets, paving and improvement of other streets, the widening, improvement, and paving of Quay Street, all in the City of Auckland, and the provision of plant, machinery, and accessories for street work, the loan to be known as “The Auckland City Streets Improvements Supplementary Loan, 1928,” the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-tenths of one penny (7/10ths) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property, comprising the whole of the City of Auckland, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
