Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Lands other than Alienations in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of April, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the tenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and gazetted the twenty-fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, but only in so far as it affects the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto, prohibiting all alienation of the land other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, and by section one hundred and eleven of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 (as amended by section eight of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of eighteen months the Order in Council dated the twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and gazetted the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto, other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

Regulations under the War Regulations Continuance Act, 1920, respecting Passports.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of April, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the War Regulations Continuance Act, 1920 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act), and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth, for the purpose of giving full effect to the intent and purport of the regulations relating to permits and passports as set out in the Part numbered ten and clause two in the Part numbered sixteen of the Second Schedule to the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the previous regulations”), hereby make the following regulations for the purposes of the said Act, and doth, for the purpose aforesaid and so far as the previous regulations are replaced by the regulations hereby enacted, hereby revoke the previous regulations.

REGULATIONS.

REGULATION 1.—PRELIMINARY.

(1) THESE regulations may be cited as the Passport Regulations, 1929.

(2) These regulations shall come into force on publication hereof in the Gazette.

(3) In these regulations, where not inconsistent with the context, passport means a passport or other like document—
(a) Which establishes to the satisfaction of the Collector of Customs the nationality of the person to whom it relates; and
