(Gas) Regulations, 1924.
IN exercise of the powers conferred upon us by clause 26
of the Board of Trade (Gas) Regulations, 1924, we, the
undersigned Gas Referees, duly appointed under the said
regulations, do hereby determine that on and from the 15th
day of January, 1929, until further notice, the fees which shall
be payable by gas companies for the examination and testing,
with or without stamping, of meters, shall be as stated here-
under:—

(a) For meters with a measuring capacity of
not more than 50 cubic feet per hour 1 0 1 3
(b) For meters with a measuring capacity of
more than 50 cubic feet per hour but
not more than 100 cubic feet per hour 1 6 2 0
(c) For meters with a measuring capacity of
more than 100 cubic feet per hour—
For the first 100 cubic feet .. 1 6 2 0
For each additional 100 cubic feet
or part thereof .. .. 0 9 1 0
Provided that, for the purpose of computing the foregoing
fees, the measuring capacity shall be taken as being that
indicated on the meter by the maker:
Provided also, that where a company’s meter-testing room
is more than three miles from the headquarters of a Gas
Examiner or an Inspector of Meters, the following additional
fees shall be payable by the company—
(a) Where a company’s meter-testing room is within ten
miles of the headquarters of a Gas Examiner or an
Inspector of Meters, ten shillings per day or portion
of a day that is spent by the Examiner or Inspector in
testing the company’s meters.
(b) Where a company’s meter-testing room is not within
ten miles from the headquarters of a Gas Examiner
or an Inspector of Meters, twenty-five shillings per
day or portion of a day that is spent by the Examiner
or Inspector in testing the company’s meters.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—PORT NICHOLSON.—
LAMBTON HARBOUR.
Jerningham Point: Light-buoy to be replaced by Light-beacon;
and Light to be altered from fixed to flashing.
PRELIMINARY NOTICE.
Position: 600 ft. 000° from Jerningham Point extremity,
and 110 ft. 225° from existing light-buoy. Lat. 41° 17′ S.,
long. 174° 48′ E. (approx.).
Details: A concrete cylindrical beacon, the top of which is
now about 3 ft. above high-water, is in course of erection in a
depth of 28 ft. at M.L.W.S. It is expected the beacon will
be completed during March, 1929, upon which a flashing red
light, 3 seconds, height 17 ft., will be installed, and the exist-
ing light-buoy removed. Further notice will be given.

Sale of Unclaimed Property.

IT is hereby notified that unclaimed property in the hands
of the Police at the various police-stations will, if not
claimed before Thursday, the 28th February, 1929, be sold
thereafter by public auction.
Particulars as to the time and place of sale may be
obtained from the Superintendent or Inspector of Police in
charge of the district.
