Altering Representation of certain Districts on Otago Harbour Board, and appointing Principal Authority.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of April, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Harbours Act, 1923 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is enacted that the creation, abolition, merger, union, division, or other alteration of any constituent or combined district shall not in itself have any operation so as to affect the then existing membership of the Board, and that the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council, whenever in his opinion it becomes necessary or expedient so to do, make such provision with respect to the representation of any part of any constituent or combined district as he thinks fit:

And whereas by the said Act the Counties of Taieri and Waikouaiti, that portion of the County of Waihemo not included in the Oamaru Harbour District, and the Peninsula, Tomahawk, Portobello, and Otakau Road Districts were made a combined district for the election of one member of the Otago Harbour Board:

And whereas the Borough of Green Island formerly situate within the boundaries of the County of Taieri, and therefore by section seventeen of the said Act deemed to be included within the said county for the purposes of the election aforesaid, is now excluded from the boundaries of the said county:

And whereas the road districts aforesaid have been abolished and the County of Peninsula has been duly constituted:

And whereas it is necessary to make provision for the representation of the districts hereinbefore mentioned on the Otago Harbour Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that one member of the Otago Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of the Borough of Green Island, the Counties of Taieri, Peninsula, and Waikouaiti, and that portion of the County of Waihemo not included in the Oamaru Harbour District, in lieu of one member by the electors of the Counties of Taieri and Waikouaiti, that portion of the County of Waihemo not included in the Oamaru Harbour District, the Bay Town District, and the Peninsula, Tomahawk, Portobello, and Otakau Road Districts: And doth hereby select and appoint the Taieri County Council to be the principal authority for the purposes of such elections by the electors of the combined district as hereby altered.

Amending the Order in Council authorizing the Ohakune Borough Council to use Water from Mangawhero River for the Purpose of generating Electricity and to erect Electric Lines in the Borough of Ohakune.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of April, 1929.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the license issued to the Ohakune Borough Council on the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirtieth day of the same month by adding at the end of clause twenty thereof the following words:—

“Notwithstanding anything herein contained, a supply of electrical energy may be received in bulk at 6,600 volts by the licensee from the Raetihi Borough Council at the boundary of the licensee’s area of supply and converted for use by the licensee to 2,400 volts.”

Amending the Order in Council authorizing the Raetihi Borough Council to use Water from the Makara, Little Makara, Orautoka, Makotuku, and Mangaone Streams for the Purpose of generating Electricity and to erect Electric Lines within Portions of the Manganui and Makotuku Survey Districts.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of April, 1929.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the license issued to the Raetihi Borough Council on the nineteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-second day of the same month, by adding at the end of clause sixteen thereof the following words:—

“A minimum charge, not exceeding £250 per annum, may be collected from the Ohakune Borough Council by the licensee under an arrangement for the latter to supply electricity in bulk to the former.”

And by adding at the end of clause 18 thereof the following words:—

“Electricity may be supplied in bulk to the Ohakune Borough Council at the boundary of the area of supply described in the preceding clause 17.”

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Auckland of a Width of less than 66 ft., but not less than 44 ft., subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 24th day of April, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Auckland City Council to permit the laying-off of the proposed street, described in the Schedule hereto, of a width of less than sixty-six feet but not less than forty-four feet, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the said street within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said street.

SCHEDULE.

THAT proposed street in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 16·7 perches, being portion of Lot 20, D.P. 3352, and being portion of Allotments 2 and 4, Section 16, Suburbs of Auckland. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 74290, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
