IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, section four of the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1919, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of an access-way, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington, as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke so much of the Proclamation dated the thirteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 33, of the nineteenth day of the same month, taking land for scenic and historic purposes in Block VIII, Omapere Survey District, as affects the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by subsection two of section fifteen of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto to be the Maori Council for the Maori Council District of Mahunui.

Amending Regulations as to Licenses to fish for Atlantic Salmon (Salmo Salar) in the Southland Acclimatization District.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the tenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 1, of the thirteenth day of the same month, regulations were made as to licenses to fish for Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) in the Southland Acclimatization District:

And whereas it is desirable to amend the said regulations in the manner hereinafter described:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by sections eighty-three and ninety-four of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke regulation one of the hereinbefore-recited regulations, and doth hereby make the following regulation in lieu thereof.

REGULATION.

THE period from the first day of May to the thirtieth day of September, both days inclusive, in any year, is hereby declared to be a close season for Atlantic salmon, during which period no person shall have in his possession any Atlantic salmon or the young or spawn thereof:

Provided that in respect of the Upukorora River and that portion of Lake Te Anau inside a straight line drawn from Bluegum or Lagoon Point to the summit of Lookout Hill, the close season for Atlantic salmon shall be from the first day of April to the thirtieth day of September, both days inclusive, in any year:
