TEMUKA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Council of the Borough of Temuka hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of six thousand pounds (£6,000), authorized
by a poll of ratepayers held on the 18th day of October, 1928,
to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Temuka under
the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of erecting
new high-pressure water-supply headworks in the disused
railway-pit adjoining the Main South Road, and situated
approximately one-half mile south of the Township of Orari ;
also to lay a concrete pipe-line from the said headworks to
connect to the present water-supply pipe-line at Winchester,
the Council of the Borough of Temuka hereby makes and
levies a special rate of thirty-seven one-hundred-and-twenty-
eighths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on
the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the
whole of the Borough of Temuka, and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable yearly on the 6th day of June in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of
such resolution as appearing in the minute-book of the Council
of the Borough of Temuka.

CLIFTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Wai-iti Special Loan, £350.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by section 17 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
the Counties Act, 1920, and the amendments thereof, and any
other Acts it enabling, and with the consent of the ratepayers
of the Wai-iti Special-rating Area, as testified by a petition
signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers of the
said special-rating area, the capital value of whose properties
as appearing on the valuation roll of the said district is collec-
tively greater than the capital value of the ratepayers who did
not so consent, the Clifton County Council hereby resolves
that for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on
a loan of three hundred and fifty pounds (£350), authorized to

be raised by the said Council under the above-mentioned Acts
for the metalling of portions of the Wai-iti Road and the
purposes incidental thereto, the said Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of three-eighths (⅜) of a penny in the pound
upon the rateable property of the said Wai-iti Special-rating
Area, comprising part Sections 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 69, and
the whole of Sections 18–24, 36–39, 63, 76 of Block X, Mimi
Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of February and August in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above resolution was duly passed in accordance with
the Counties Act, 1920, and its amendments, at a meeting of
the Clifton County Council held on Friday, the 1st day of
March, 1929.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between WILLIAM JAMES FOSTER and JAMES
HIGGINSON, carrying on business as Family Butchers at the
corner of Forth and Union Streets, Dunedin, N.Z., under the
style or firm of “Foster and Higginson,” has been dissolved
by mutual consent as from the 11th day of March, 1929, so
far as concerns the said James Higginson, who retires from the
said firm. The said William James Foster will continue the
business as heretofore and will receive all moneys owing to
and pay all debts by the late firm.
