Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

Wellington, 22nd February, 1929.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces:—
STAFF.
Lieutenant V. J. Innes, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Staff Officer i/c (temp.) No. 2 Regimental District, dated 15th October, 1928, and temporarily relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, No. 2A Area, dated 18th January, 1929.
2nd Lieutenant C. E. Weir, Royal New Zealand Artillery, having completed his training at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and his attachment to the Royal Artillery, returned to New Zealand on the 11th December, 1928, is promoted Lieutenant from that date, with seniority as from 1st September, 1927, and is appointed Assistant to the O.C., R.N.Z.A., Central Command, dated 19th January, 1929.
2nd Lieutenant C. Shuttleworth, N.Z. Staff Corps, having completed his training at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and his attachment to the 2nd Battalion, The Norfolk Regiment, returned to New Zealand on the 11th December, 1928, is promoted Lieutenant from that date, with seniority as from 1st September, 1927, and is appointed Assistant to the Staff Officer i/c. No. 11 Regimental District, Dunedin, dated 19th January, 1929.
2nd Lieutenant G. H. Heal, N.Z. Staff Corps, having completed his training at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and his attachment to the 1st Battalion, The King’s Own Scottish Borderers, returned to New Zealand on the 11th December, 1928, is promoted Lieutenant from that date, with seniority as from 1st September, 1927, and is appointed Area Officer (temp.) No. 2A Area, Paeroa, dated 19th January, 1929.
Captain H. B. Burrell, N.Z. Air Force, is attached temporarily to the N.Z. Permanent Air Force as pilot at Wigram Aerodrome, Sockburn. Dated 3rd January, 1929.
Lieutenant-Colonel J. Hardie Neil, D.S.O., v.d., M.R.C.S., Eng., N.Z. Medical Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Director of Medical Services, Northern Command, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 9th February, 1929.
QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants:—
James Montague Job Hartwell. Dated 15th September, 1928.

THE NELSON-MARLBOROUGH MOUNTED RIFLES.
Noel Taylor to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 16th September, 1928.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant H. Roberts is transferred to the Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles. Dated 12th February, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant A. C. Dickson to be Lieutenant. Dated 7th September, 1928.
THE N.Z. INFANTRY.
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).
Captain M. McKechnie, 7th C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 11th February, 1929.
The North Auckland Regiment.
Raymond James Lynch to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the 3rd C Battalion. Dated 14th September, 1928.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.
Captain H. Salmon, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 9. Dated 13th February, 1929.
The Southland Regiment.
Captain G. F. Myers, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 12. Dated 6th February, 1929.
THE N.Z. AIR FORCE.
The notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 82 of 21st November, 1928, relating to the retirement of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) H. L. Lucena, is hereby cancelled. Dated 21st February, 1929.
N.Z. VETERINARY CORPS.
Lieutenant R. B. H. Murray, M.R.C.V.S., Eng. (Royal Army Veterinary Corps) (T.A.), is granted the local rank of Captain. Dated 13th September, 1928.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Lieutenant W. M. Brown, M.B., to be Captain. Dated 26th November, 1928.
William Gordon Rich, M.B., Ch.B., D.M.R.E. (Camb.), to be Lieutenant. Dated 29th January, 1929.
N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
S. S. Green, Chaplain, 3rd Class, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 1st February, 1929.
