The Town of Pipiroa is situate in Hauraki Plains, on the west bank of the Piako River, a few miles from the coast and seven miles distance from Thames. Access, either by steamer or service car, from Auckland.

Sections 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 have a frontage to the main Auckland-Thames Road. The remaining sections front Hauraki Street.

The land consists of partly drained alluvial clay deposit, covered with raupo and native grasses.

Piako County.—Te Aroha Township.

Section 20, Block LXII: Area, 1 rood 9·4 perches. Upset price, £800.

The section is situated about one mile from Te Aroha Post-office and high school, and approximately 300 yards from the Hamilton-Thames Main Highway. Improvements included in the capital value comprise rimu dwelling of five rooms, with pantry, bathroom and office, electric-light, hot and cold water, wash-house, and garage. All in excellent condition.

Section 13, Block LXIV: Area, 1 rood 6 perches. Upset price, £100.

Loaded with £2 for fencing; to be paid in cash.

The section is situated at the northern end of Whittaker Street, about three-quarters of a mile from the Te Aroha Railway-station and school. Level section, unimproved; suitable for a building-site.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

Hauraki Plains County.—Waihou Survey District.

SECTION 23, Block II: Area, 2 acres. Upset price, £120.

Section is situated three miles from Ngatea, at the junction of the Horahia and Kopuarahi-Kerepeehi Roads, one mile from Horahia Wharf, and ten miles from Thames, by metalled roads.

Level grassed section, with a clump of cabbage trees and kahikatea (approximately one-fifth of an acre). Soil excellent alluvial clay deposit.

Special Conditions.—The shed and fencing on the section are not included in the sale and the right to remove them is reserved.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Parr’s Park Scenic Board.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), for the period of three years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act) in the undermentioned persons, namely,—

The Commissioner of Crown Lands for the North Auckland Land District, ex officio,

John Bertram Guy,

Rowland Wood,

Harry Arnold Robertson, and

George Taylor,

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Parr’s Park Scenic Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Monday, the eighteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, at two o’clock p.m., in the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland; and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Monday in each quarter at the time and place aforesaid, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

  2. The Commissioner of Crown Lands shall be the Chairman of the Board. He may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.

  6. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman for such meeting.

  7. If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

  8. The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

  9. The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.

PARR’S PARK SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 16 acres 2 roods, more or less, being portion Allotment 14, Waipareira Parish. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 4/363, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of February, 1929.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto the Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces, published in the New Zealand Gazette dated the sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five; and I do hereby declare that the amendments hereby made shall take effect as from the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
