of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Thomas Anderson,
Henry Cotter,
James Dick,
Arthur David Eglinton, and
John Stewart

to be the Ngaturi Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Schoolroom, Ngaturi, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

Exempting certain Native Lands from Rates.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS under the provisions of section one hundred and four of the Rating Act, 1925, the Governor-General may from time to time, for the reasons therein specified, exempt any Native land liable to rates from all or any part of such rates:

And whereas it is desirable that such power should be exercised in respect of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said Act and of every other power thereunto him enabling, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby exempt the Native land named in the Schedule hereto from all rates made or levied by any local authority under the Rating Act, 1925.

  1. MAWHITIWHITI Maori Pa, comprising 10 acres, or thereabouts, being Subdivision No. 11 on deposited plan No. 807 of part of Section 59, Block I, Hawera Survey District, so known as Umutahi Grant 3805, Subdivision 11.

  2. Hokorima Pa, comprising 4 acres 1 rood, being Subdivision No. 2 on deposited plan No. 806 of part of Section 141, Block IV, Waimate Survey District.

Increasing Number of Members of Mangapu Drainage Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the tenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the nineteenth day of the same month, it was declared, inter alia, that the Board of Trustees of the Mangapu Drainage District should consist of six persons, and that two members should be elected for the Mangaokewa Subdivision:

And whereas it is now deemed expedient to fix the number of persons of which the said Board shall consist at seven, and the number of members to be elected for the Mangaokewa Subdivision at three:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the Board of Trustees of the said district shall consist of seven persons, and that the number of members to be elected for the Mangaokewa Sub-

division shall be three; such increase to commence from the general election of members to be held in November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty.

Native Land exempted from Payment of Rates.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1929.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS under the authority of section one hundred and four of the Rating Act, 1925, and as therein mentioned, the Governor-General may from time to time by Order in Council exempt any Native land liable to rates from all or any part of such rates, and such Order in Council may apply to any specified class of lands:

And whereas it is desirable that such power should be exercised in respect of the specified class of lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said Act and of every other power thereunto him enabling, His Excellency, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby exempt the Native land named in the Schedule hereto from all rates made or levied by the Kawhia County Council under the provisions of the Rating Act, 1925, up to and inclusive of the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty.

ALL Native lands situated within the County of Kawhia excepting thereout such Native lands as are subject to subsisting leases to Europeans.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £22,320 by the Franklin Electric-power Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 11th day of February, 1929.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Franklin Electric-power Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) is desirous of raising the sum of twenty-two thousand three hundred and twenty pounds for the purpose of distributing electrical energy in portion of the Raglan County, by a loan to be known as “The Part Raglan County Special Loan, 1927”:

And whereas the said local authority has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council under the said Act should be given to the raising of the said loan on the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan up to the amount of twenty-two thousand three hundred and twenty pounds, subject to the conditions that the said local authority shall, before borrowing the said sum or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and shall thereafter make to such sinking fund payments at intervals of not more than one year at a rate or rates which shall be not less than the rate of one pound per centum, such payments to be made in respect of every part of the said sum for the time being so borrowed and not repaid, and the first payment to be made not later than one year after the first day from which interest to the lender is computed on any moneys so borrowed, and subject to the further condition that no portion of sinking fund shall be paid out of loan-money.
