Extending Time for holding Election of Trustees for Freshfield Drainage District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 11th day of February, 1929.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section ten of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, it is provided that on the first Monday in the month of November in the year following the year in which the first Trustees for any drainage district are elected, and on the same day in each succeeding third year thereafter, an election of Trustees for each district shall be held :
And whereas an election of Trustees for the Freshfield Drainage District should have been held on the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight :
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding such election of Trustees for the Freshfield Drainage District :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section twenty-two of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the aforesaid election of Trustees for the Freshfield Drainage District; and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid drainage district the said election shall be held and take place on Friday, the fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine.

Further extending Time for holding Election of Trustees for Judea Drainage District.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1929.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section ten of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, it is provided that on the first Monday in the month of November in the year following the year in which the first Trustees for any drainage district are elected, and on the same day on each succeeding third year thereafter, an election of Trustees for each district shall be held :
And whereas an election of Trustees for the Judea Drainage District should have been held on the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight :
And whereas by Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and gazetted on the twentieth day of the same month, the time for holding such election of Trustees for the Judea Drainage District was extended until Tuesday, the fifteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine :
And whereas by Order in Council dated the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and gazetted on the seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, the time for holding such election of Trustees for the Judea Drainage District was extended until Friday, the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine :
And whereas it is expedient to extend further the time for holding such election of Trustees for the Judea Drainage District :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section twenty-two of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby further extend the time for holding the aforesaid election of Trustees for the Judea Drainage District; and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid drainage district the said election shall be held and take place on Tuesday, the twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine.

And whereas it is expedient to extend further the time for holding such election of Trustees for the Hillside Drainage District :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section twenty-two of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby further extend the time for holding the aforesaid election of Trustees for the Hillside Drainage District; and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid drainage district the said election shall be held and take place on Monday, the eighteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine.

Returning Officer appointed for Waitemata County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of February, 1929.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section forty of the Rating Act, 1925, a demand has been made on the Chairman of the Waitemata County Council that a proposal to adopt the system of rating on the basis of the unimproved value be submitted to the votes of the ratepayers of the Waitemata County (hereinafter referred to as βthe said votesβ) :
And whereas the Returning Officer for the Waitemata County has resigned, and the Waitemata County Council has not appointed a Returning Officer in his stead :
And whereas sufficient provision has not been made under the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, for the appointment of a Returning Officer for the said county for the purpose of taking the said votes within the time prescribed by the Rating Act, 1925 :
And whereas it is necessary that a Returning Officer for the Waitemata County should be appointed forthwith for the purpose of taking the said votes :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section seventy-one of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint Sydney Brittain Bull, Esquire, of Auckland, to be Returning Officer for the Waitemata County.
