Ascertainment of date of operation.
6. The date to be fixed under the last preceding clause hereof shall be the date on which, in the opinion of the said Minister, an efficient and comprehensive motor-omnibus service will be available substantially to take the place of the tramway service hereby authorized to be discontinued.

Protection of ordinary traffic.
7. No consent given by the local authority pursuant to subclause (2) of clause 16 of the Second Schedule to the Tramways Act, 1908, shall (except with the written consent of the said Minister) operate to extend for a period of more than six months from the date fixed in terms of clause 5 hereof or from the date of discontinuance of the said tramway service (whichever date be the later) the period of six weeks referred to in the said subclause (2) of clause 16.

Marginal notes.
8. Clause 53 of the Gisborne Borough Tramways Order No. 1 shall apply to these presents.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Rotoiti Domain.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

William Alfred Andrews,
Ralph Catley,
Thomas Andrew Hemming Field,
Frederick Giles Gibbs,
Henry Thomas Kidson,
Francis Innes Ledger,
Arthur Stratford, and
Ernest Harold Thomson

to be the Rotoiti Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the twelfth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, at half past four o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Nelson College Office, Trafalgar Street, Nelson, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

License authorizing the Waipiro Trading Company to erect further Electric Lines in Waipu County.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of December, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Waipiro Trading Company to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.


CONDITIONS.

  1. PURPOSES OF LINES.

THE said lines may be used for lighting, power, and heating purposes.

  1. LICENSES TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.

The license hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the license with the regulations made under section 2 of the aforesaid Act on the 11th day of July, 1927, and published in the Gazette on the 12th day of the same month at page 2360 (hereinafter called “the said regulations”), and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.

  1. SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.

The system of supply shall be the system described in paragraph (c) of clause 5 of the said regulations.

  1. GENERATING VOLTAGE.

The generating voltage shall be approximately 40 volts between the terminals.

  1. DURATION OF LICENSE.

This license shall, unless sooner determined, whether by surrender by the license or by revocation under the provisions contained in the said regulations or in any amending or substituted regulations, continue in force for a period of twenty-one years from the date hereof.

  1. EFFECT OF DETERMINATION OF LICENSE.

The determination of this license, whether by expiration of time, by surrender, or by revocation as aforesaid shall not relieve the licensee from any liability theretofore incurred under this license.

  1. RAILWAY AND TELEGRAPH LINES.

The licensee shall, from time to time, rectify to the satisfaction of the Minister of Railways and Minister of Telegraphs, respectively, any interference or disturbance caused by the erection or operation of the licensee’s system that affects the satisfactory working of any telegraph-line which is under the control of or in use by the Railway Department and the Post and Telegraph Department, respectively, and which was erected before the erection of the lines hereby licensed. All electric lines must be erected with sufficient clearance to permit telegraph-lines to pass under the said electric lines.

  1. REQUIREMENTS OF WAIPU COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained, the licensee shall not, by virtue of these presents, be entitled to lay, construct, put up, place, or use the electric lines hereby authorized except subject to such conditions, not inconsistent with the provisions of this license or of the said regulations or any regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor as may from time to time lawfully be imposed by the Waipu County Council.


SCHEDULE.

FIRSTLY, a line adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents along a route commencing at the licensee’s generating-station, situated at the junction of Hurumanu Street and the Waipiro-Makarika Road, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction across the latter road to a residence in the Matahe Road.

Secondly, a line adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents along a route commencing at the licensee’s generating-station as aforesaid, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction across Hurumanu Street and Maui Street to the Anglican Church.

As the said respective lines are more particularly delineated in the plan marked P.W.D. 73222, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon indicated by red lines.
