Prescribing the Fees to be paid for the Inspection of Machinery and Boilers.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of December, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section eleven of the Inspection of Machinery Amendment Act, 1927, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the fees prescribed in the Schedule hereto shall, as from the date hereof, be the fees payable in respect of inspections of machinery and boilers.

SCHEDULE.

THE sum specified in the first column is the amount of the fee; the sum specified in the second column is the amount which may be accepted in satisfaction of the fee, provided such sum is paid within one month after the date of issue of the notice that the fee is due.

In respect of every steam-vessel under pressure—

For every digester having a capacity of over 12 cubic feet .. .. .. .. .. £ 0 15 0 £ 0 10 0

Provided that in any factory or workshop where the electricity for working the motors used therein is generated on the premises the fee shall be chargeable only on the boilers or engines which drive the dynamo or generator, and not on the dynamo or generator or on the motors worked by the power supplied from the dynamo or generator.

Provided, further, that in any factory or workshop where the electricity is not generated on the premises, and where any motor or motors of less than 5 horse-power are in use, the maximum fee for inspection of such motors shall be .. .. .. .. .. £ 0 5 0 £ 0 2 6

Provided, also, that in any factory or workshop where electric motors only are used for driving machinery the total fees payable in respect of that factory or workshop on any inspection shall not exceed .. .. .. .. .. £ 12 0 0 £ 10 0 0

Provided, further, that no fees shall be payable on any Pelton or turbine wheel not exceeding 5 horse-power.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising of a Loan by the Akitio County Council and prescribing Term and Rate of Interest.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of December, 1928.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Akitio County Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”), is desirous of raising the sum of three thousand pounds for the purpose of metalling the Akitio River Road from the point where the road boundary adjoins the western side of Section 5A, Block VI, Mount Cerberus Survey District, to the Cadmus Ford on the Akitio River, by a loan to be known as “River Road Metalling Loan, 1928”:

And whereas the said local authority has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council under the said Act should be given to the raising of the said loan on the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth:

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, to the borrowing by the said local authority of the said loan for the term hereinafter mentioned, at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, and by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan up to the amount of three thousand pounds for a term of twenty years, at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate of six pounds per centum per annum, subject to the condition that the said local authority shall, before borrowing the said sum or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and by making to such sinking fund payments at intervals of not more than one year at a rate or rates which shall be not less than the rate of three pounds per centum, such payments to be made in respect of every part of the said sum for the time being so borrowed and not repaid, and the first payment to be made not later than one year after the first day from which interest to the lender is computed on any moneys so borrowed, and subject to the further condition that no portion of interest or sinking fund shall be paid out of loan-money.
